Bhagwan Birsa Munda Swarojgar Yojana is a self employment loan scheme of Madhya Pradesh government for Scheduled Tribe (ST) youth. It offers bank loans from ₹1 lakh to ₹50 lakh so tribal youth can start their own business, industry or service work. The scheme was approved by the state cabinet on 6 September 2022 along with two other tribal welfare schemes.

Bhagwan Birsa Munda Swarojgar Yojana MP

Madhya Pradesh government runs this scheme to help ST youth become self-employed. It was approved together with Tantya Mama Arthik Kalyan Yojana and Mukhyamantri Anusuchit Janjati Vishesh Pariyojana Vitt Poshan Yojana. Under this scheme, tribal youth get bank loans at a lower interest rate to set up their own enterprise.

The loan amount depends on the type of business. For manufacturing units, the loan goes up to ₹50 lakh. For service and retail business, the loan limit is up to ₹25 lakh. The minimum loan in both cases is ₹1 lakh.

The scheme also gives an interest subsidy of 5% per year on the loan for up to 7 years. The government pays the guarantee fee on the loan as well. After the loan is approved, youth get training to run their business well.

Birsa Munda Swarojgar Yojana Apply Online

Application for Bhagwan Birsa Munda Swarojgar Yojana is done online through the SAMAST portal at samast.mponline.gov.in. This is the single window system of Madhya Pradesh government for bank linked schemes. Follow the steps below to apply.

STEP 1 - Visit the official SAMAST portal at samast.mponline.gov.in and complete the Aadhaar eKYC to create your profile.

STEP 2 - After login, select Bhagwan Birsa Munda Swarojgar Yojana from the list of schemes and open the application form.

STEP 3 - Fill in the personal details, choose the type of business and enter the loan amount you need.

STEP 4 - Upload the required documents including your project report and submit the form.

STEP 5 - The district task force committee reviews the application and project report. After approval, the application is sent to the bank for loan processing.

Eligibility Criteria for Birsa Munda Self Employment Scheme

Applicants must meet the following conditions to apply for Bhagwan Birsa Munda Swarojgar Yojana.

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
• Applicant must belong to Scheduled Tribe (ST) category and hold a valid caste certificate.
• Age must be between 18 and 45 years at the time of application.
• Applicant must have passed at least class 8.
• Family income must not fall under the income tax limit.
• Applicant must not be a defaulter at any nationalized bank, financial institution or cooperative bank.

Under Tantya Mama Arthik Kalyan Yojana, ST youth get loans between ₹10,000 and ₹1 lakh for small self employment activities. Mukhyamantri Anusuchit Janjati Vishesh Pariyojana Vitt Poshan Yojana

Under Mukhyamantri Anusuchit Janjati Vishesh Pariyojana Vitt Poshan Yojana, beneficiaries get grants up to ₹2 crore from the state government. These grants are given to carry out farming and animal husbandry activities.
