Madhya Pradesh government has widened Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana in 2026, and the price difference payment no longer covers soybean alone. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav told the assembly in February 2026 that mustard would be added on the lines of soybean, and the central government cleared the state's mustard proposal in March 2026. Paddy was brought under the same cover in July 2026.

Update 17 October 2026: Madhya Pradesh government has extended soybean registration under Bhavantar till 24 October 2026, and collectors have to finish checking the registered farmers' details within this extra week. Earlier, on 15 October, the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav approved Bhavantar for kharif 2026 soybean. Payment will be worked out on your registered area and last year's state average yield, and Mandi Board will send it by DBT. If the Price Stabilisation Fund runs short, the state will give Mandi Board a ₹1,500 crore credit limit for one year.

Soybean registration for kharif 2026 (marketing year 2026-27) opened on 3 October 2026 on the e-Uparjan portal, as per the state government notice of 30 September 2026. It was meant to close on 17 October. Soybean MSP for 2026-27 is ₹5,708 per quintal, up from ₹5,328 last year.

Farmers sell their crop in a notified mandi. If the sale rate falls below the Minimum Support Price, Madhya Pradesh government pays the gap straight into the bank account through DBT. Soybean MSP was fixed at ₹5,328 per quintal in the last cycle. When mandi rates were sitting near ₹4,036, farmers got roughly ₹1,300 per quintal as the difference amount.

On 13 November 2025, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav sent ₹233 crore to the accounts of about 1.33 lakh soybean growers in one go. The state uses satellite images and an AI-based tracking system to check mandi sales, so the money moves within 48 hours of the sale record being verified. No middleman sits in between.

Registration is the one thing farmers cannot skip. Selling in a mandi without a valid registration means the sale will not be picked up for price difference payment, however low the rate goes. Registration happens on MP e-Uparjan portal, at Common Service Centres, at PACS, or through the MP Kisan App.

Bhavantar Yojana Registration Process for Farmers

Registration opens crop by crop, and the dates are announced separately every season. For soybean in kharif 2026, registration now runs from 3 October to 24 October 2026. Soybean sold in notified mandis from 22 October 2026 to 15 January 2027 will count for the price difference this season, and the state can change this window if needed. Any soybean you sold between 1 and 21 October 2026 gets cut from your eligible quantity.

STEP 1 - Go to the official e-Uparjan website at mpeuparjan.nic.in, or walk into the nearest Kisan Registration Centre, CSC or Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society in your area. The MP Kisan App works too if you would rather do it from the phone.

STEP 2 - Pick the crop you want to register for from the crop list on the page. Soybean, mustard and paddy have separate registration windows, so register under the right one.

STEP 3 - Fill in your farmer registration number, Aadhaar number, bank account details and land records. Your Khasra and B1 details must match what is written in the land record, otherwise the entry gets held up at verification.

STEP 4 - Save the registration slip. Once registered, sell your crop in any notified mandi and keep the mandi sale receipt safely.

STEP 5 - After the sale is recorded, the difference between MSP and your selling rate gets worked out on its own and lands in your account. You do not have to file a separate claim.

Soybean Bhavantar Registration Rules for 2026

The state notice for soybean registration lays down these conditions. Read them before you go to a centre, because a wrong bank account or a name mismatch can hold up the payment later.

  • Registration is free at facility centres in gram panchayat, janpad panchayat and tehsil offices, and at centres run by cooperative societies and cooperative marketing societies.
  • MP Online kiosks, CSCs, Lok Seva Kendras and private cyber cafes can also register you, but they cannot charge more than ₹50 per registration.
  • Sikmi, batai, kotwar and forest lease (van patta) farmers can register only at cooperative society and cooperative marketing society centres. The revenue department checks every one of these registrations.
  • Aadhaar has to be verified for both registration and sale, through an OTP on the Aadhaar-linked mobile or a biometric device.
  • Your name in the land record khata and khasra must match the name on Aadhaar. If it does not, the tehsil office verifies the entry, and the registration counts only after that.
  • Give your bank account number and IFSC code. Inactive accounts, joint accounts and Fino, Airtel or Paytm payments bank accounts are not accepted.
  • Money goes first to the Aadhaar-linked bank account. If that fails, it goes to the account you gave at registration. MP State Civil Supplies Corporation sends ₹1 to the Aadhaar-linked account during registration to check that it works.

To update the mobile number or biometrics on Aadhaar, go to an Aadhaar centre at the district or tehsil office or at a post office. Farmers whose mobile number was taken in last kharif's registration will get an SMS about the new window.

Crops Covered Under Bhavantar in 2026

Soybean was the crop that brought the scheme back. Since then the state has kept adding to the list, and 2026 has been the biggest year for it so far. Here is where each crop stands right now.

  • Soybean - covered since the 2025-26 cycle, with payments already made to lakhs of growers. MSP for 2026-27 is ₹5,708 per quintal and registration for this season runs from 3 to 24 October 2026.
  • Mustard - the state proposal was cleared by the centre in March 2026, so mustard growers now get the same price difference cover as soybean.
  • Paddy - added in July 2026, with the state paying the gap between MSP and the mandi rate.
  • Maize - growers have been getting price difference payments alongside soybean in the running cycle.

Bonus on Urad, Tur and Kodo-Kutki

Some crops get a straight bonus instead of a price gap payment. Urad growers get ₹600 per quintal on top of MSP, and the state has made sure 100 percent of urad and moong is picked up at support price. For tur, a proposal of 1.31 lakh metric tonnes was prepared for direct buying through NAFED and NCCF.

Millet growers have their own line. Under Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana, Kodo and Kutki farmers get a bonus of ₹1,000 per quintal. In one such transfer, ₹2.84 crore reached 3,941 millet growers in a single click.

Chana and Masoor Procurement at Support Price

Alongside Bhavantar, the state buys pulses directly at MSP. For the 2026 rabi season, Madhya Pradesh proposed buying 6.49 lakh metric tonnes of chana and 6.01 lakh metric tonnes of masoor from the central government under Price Support Scheme. Farmer registration for it ran from 20 February to 16 March 2026, and buying ran from 24 March to 30 May 2026.

Against that target, the state ended up buying a record 2.71 lakh metric tonnes of gram from over 91,000 farmers and 1.85 lakh metric tonnes of lentil from 76,500 farmers.

How Compensation Is Worked Out

Two rates decide what you get. One is the MSP, the other is the state model rate. For the first 14 days from 22 October 2026, the model rate is the weighted average sale price across all state mandis. After that, it is fixed every day from the last 14 days' weighted average and shown on the e-Mandi portal. The payment depends on where your selling rate sits between the two.

  • If the mandi price is below MSP but above the state model price, you get the difference between MSP and your actual selling rate.
  • If the mandi price falls below the state model price, you get the difference between MSP and the model price, not your actual rate. This stops traders from pushing rates down on paper.

Crop Damage Survey and Relief

Price difference is one part. Crop loss is handled separately through surveys in fields hit by heavy rain or yellow mosaic disease, and relief is paid on the basis of the survey report. Under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the state now assesses soybean and other crop losses using both satellite data and crop cutting experiments, which cuts down the argument over how much was actually lost.

FAQ's

What is the last date for soybean Bhavantar registration in 2026?

24 October 2026. The state pushed it from the earlier last date of 17 October, and registration is done on mpeuparjan.nic.in and at the notified registration centres.

Which crops are covered under Bhavantar in Madhya Pradesh in 2026?

Soybean, mustard, paddy and maize. Mustard was cleared by the centre in March 2026 and paddy was added in July 2026. Urad, tur and millets are handled through bonus and direct buying instead.

What if I sell my crop without registering?

You will not get the price difference. The payment is worked out from the mandi sale record linked to your registration, so an unregistered sale simply does not enter the system.

How long does the money take to reach the account?

Around 48 hours after the sale is verified, in most cases. Delays usually point to a bank account that is not linked with Aadhaar or a mismatch in land records.

Is Bhavantar the same as MSP procurement?

No. In MSP procurement the government buys your crop itself. In Bhavantar you sell to a trader in the mandi at whatever rate you get, and the state pays you the shortfall against MSP later.

Will crop damage from yellow mosaic be covered?

Yes, but through a separate survey, not through Bhavantar. Relief is paid on the basis of the field survey report and crop insurance assessment.
