Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana 2026 - ₹6,000 Per Year to Maharashtra Farmers

Maharashtra government's Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana for farmer families provide benefits to about 90 lakh farmers with ₹2,000 in their bank account every four months. That adds up to ₹6,000 a year from the state. Central PM Kisan Samman Nidhi pays another ₹6,000, so a Maharashtra farmer family gets ₹12,000 a year in all.

Scheme was first proposed as Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and was called CM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in the early reports. Devendra Fadnavis announced it as finance minister in the Maharashtra Budget 2023-24 speech on 9 March 2023, under the Eknath Shinde government. Name was changed to Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana before rollout. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the first installment on 27 October 2023, sending ₹1,712 crore to 85 lakh 60 thousand farmers in a single click.

There is no application form for the state scheme. Farmers already registered and approved under PM Kisan in Maharashtra are picked up automatically, and the ₹2,000 goes to the same account where the PM Kisan installment comes. Agriculture Department of the Maharashtra government runs the scheme, and the portal is nsmny.mahait.org.

Ahilyanagar district has the highest number of eligible farmers at about 5.40 lakh, followed by Solapur with around 4.86 lakh. Tighter checking of land records and eKYC has trimmed the list over time, from 91.65 lakh farmers in the 7th installment to 89.75 lakh in the 8th.

Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana 2026

Payment under Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana 2026 is ₹2,000 per installment, three times a year, four months apart. Money moves through Direct Benefit Transfer, so it lands in the bank account directly with no office visit and no middleman. Eight rounds have gone out since October 2023. Each round needs a shasan nirnay, the government resolution from the finance department, before the amount is released.

Eligibility criteria for Namo Shetkari Yojana

Rules for this scheme are tied to PM Kisan, so anyone who is out of the central list is out of the state one too. A farmer must meet these conditions:

• Must be a resident of Maharashtra with the family listed in state land records
• Should have cultivable land in their own name, size of the holding does not matter
• Must already be registered under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and be showing as an approved farmer there
• Should have a bank account seeded with Aadhaar and switched on for DBT, because payment fails without this
• Must not fall in the excluded groups such as income tax payers, serving or retired government staff, and institutional land holders

As per an October 2026 report, the state cabinet has approved a proposal to link the scheme with the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar farm loan waiver, under which farmers taking the loan waiver benefit will not get the Namo Shetkari installment. Official notification is awaited. Registration and eKYC for PM Kisan can be completed online at pmkisan.gov.in, and the state benefit follows once the name is approved there.

Namo Shetkari Yojana installment date

First six installments went out along with PM Kisan on the same day. That link broke from the 7th installment onward, and since then Maharashtra has been releasing its share separately, weeks or months after the central payment. The 8th installment reached accounts in the last week of March 2026, worth ₹1,774 crore for 89 lakh 75 thousand farmers, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed the credit in the assembly.

Namo Shetkari Yojana beneficiary status check

Farmers can check payment and application status online on the state portal. It shows every installment paid so far, so it is the quickest way to confirm whether a payment has landed.

STEP 1 - Open the official page at https://nsmny.mahait.org/Beneficiary_Status/Beneficiary on your phone or computer.

STEP 2 - Enter your registration number or the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, fill in the captcha shown on screen, then click "Get Aadhaar OTP".

STEP 3 - OTP will come to your Aadhaar linked mobile number. Type the OTP and click "Verify" to open your installment history and application status.

STEP 4 - Read the status line carefully. If it says rejected or pending, note down the reason shown there before you visit any office, because that one line decides whether the fix is a bank job or a land record job.

FAQ's

Is CM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana the same as Namo Shetkari Yojana?

Yes, it is one scheme. Maharashtra government first proposed it as Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, then launched it in October 2023 under the name Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana. There is no second scheme paying a separate ₹6,000.

Can a farmer get this money without being in PM Kisan?

No. Approval in the PM Kisan list for Maharashtra is the gate for this scheme. A farmer left out of PM Kisan has to register at pmkisan.gov.in or through the village CSC first, and the state amount starts only after that name is approved.

What if an installment never came?

Check the status page first and read the reason. Then take a written application to the PM Kisan and Namo Shetkari desk at your tehsil office, along with your Aadhaar, 7/12 extract and bank passbook copy. Old dues are usually cleared with the next payment cycle once the record is corrected.
