Farm Machinery Bank (FMB)/Farm Machinery Hub (FMH) is a state-led scheme by the Agriculture Department of West Bengal that helps small and marginal farmers get affordable, end-to-end access to farming equipment. It supports rural youth and entrepreneurs in setting up machinery hubs with a big subsidy, and the scheme is open for the 2026-27 financial year under the Farm Mechanization Schemes (FMS).
The scheme runs under the Farm Mechanization Umbrella Scheme of the West Bengal Agriculture Department. It focuses on creating steady work for rural youth and local entrepreneurs by helping them build machinery hubs, mainly in areas where farm power is still limited.
Farm Machinery Bank (FMB) or Farm Machinery Hub (FMH) - Introduction
By giving low-cost access to modern equipment, this scheme closes the gap for small farmers who find it hard to pay for machinery on their own. It raises farm power across the state and works toward the targets set by the Government of India.
Main aims of this scheme are:
- Creating self-employment work for rural youth and new entrepreneurs.
- Making sure small and marginal farmers can use machinery for every need, from land development to crop residue management, at fair prices.
- Cutting the money burden of owning farm equipment on small holdings.
- Supporting primary processing units like dal mills, oil mills, and seed processing units.
- Raising the daily farm power available so farm output improves.
The scheme runs across all districts of West Bengal except the Kolkata district.

- If a subsidy was already received under this scheme, the applicant or spouse must wait at least 4 years before applying again.
