Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs is running Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0) for eligible city families who do not own a pucca house, and online applications are open through Common Service Centers (CSC) as well as the official pmaymis.gov.in portal. PMAY-U 2.0 was launched in September 2024 with a target of building 1 crore homes by 2029, and more than 127 lakh houses have already been sanctioned under the scheme so far.

Earlier applicants used to apply for old PMAY-U scheme through registration.csc.gov.in, but that process has now been replaced by PMAY-U 2.0. New scheme works under four verticals, and citizens can either apply online themselves at pmay-urban.gov.in or visit a nearby CSC for a small assisted-application fee of ₹25 plus GST.

PMAY Online Application 2026 through CSC

Applicants who have already applied for PMAY-U 2.0 through any mode do not need to apply again. Those who still need to register can visit any nearby Common Service Center and follow the process given below.

STEP 1 - Find nearest CSC in your city using the CSC locator, or find nearest CSC in your city on this website.

STEP 2 - Carry your Aadhaar card, income certificate, address proof and passport size photo to the CSC. Request the operator for PMAY-U 2.0 application and pay the assisted-service fee of ₹25 plus GST.

STEP 3 - CSC operator will open your eligibility check on the official PMAY-U 2.0 portal, enter your state, annual household income and select the applicable vertical, that is Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Affordable Rental Housing (ARH) or Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS).

STEP 4 - Your Aadhaar number is verified using an OTP sent to your Aadhaar registered mobile number. Enter the OTP shown to the operator and confirm.

STEP 5 - Operator fills your personal, income, property and bank details in the application form and uploads the required documents. Check everything carefully before final submission, since edits are not always possible later.

STEP 6 - After submission, you get an Application ID or assessment ID printed on an acknowledgement slip. Keep this ID safe, it is needed later to track your application status.

Applicants who are comfortable applying without CSC help can also go directly to pmay-urban.gov.in, click on "Apply for PMAY-U 2.0", complete the same eligibility check and Aadhaar OTP verification, and submit the form themselves at no extra cost.

Status of an online application can be checked on pmaymis.gov.in under the "Search Beneficiary" option, using either the Aadhaar number, mobile number or the application ID received at the CSC. For district and state wise beneficiary records, check PMAY Urban List of Beneficiaries on this website.

Four Verticals under PMAY-U 2.0

Central government is inviting applications for PMAY-U 2.0 beneficiary selection under following four verticals, and applicants need to choose the one that matches their situation.

  • Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) - for EWS families with annual income up to ₹3 lakh who own land and want to construct or extend a house on it, with central assistance up to ₹2.5 lakh per unit.
  • Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) - for families buying a ready or under-construction house built by a public or private developer, also with central assistance up to ₹2.5 lakh per unit.
  • Affordable Rental Housing (ARH) - for urban migrants, students and low income workers who need rental housing close to their workplace, open to EWS families earning up to ₹3 lakh and LIG families earning up to ₹6 lakh a year.
  • Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS) - for EWS, LIG and MIG families taking a home loan, giving up to ₹1.80 lakh subsidy paid in five yearly instalments of ₹36,000 each.

Eligibility for PMAY-U 2.0

Applicant or any member of the applicant's family should not own a pucca house anywhere in India. Family income is checked against the vertical chosen, EWS families with income up to ₹3 lakh, LIG families between ₹3 lakh and ₹6 lakh, and MIG families up to ₹9 lakh a year under the Interest Subsidy Scheme, with home loan amount up to ₹25 lakh for a house valued up to ₹35 lakh and carpet area up to 120 square metres.

Documents Required at CSC

Keep these documents ready before visiting the CSC so that the operator can complete your form in one visit.

  • Aadhaar card of applicant and family members, since verification is done through Aadhaar linked OTP.
  • Income certificate or self declaration of annual household income for the EWS, LIG or MIG category.
  • Bank passbook, address proof and a recent passport size photograph for the application form.

Is PMAY-U 1.0 online application through registration.csc.gov.in still open?

No. Old PMAY-U scheme and its CSC registration link have been replaced by PMAY-U 2.0, which was launched in September 2024. Applications now go through pmay-urban.gov.in or pmaymis.gov.in, and CSC operators use the same updated portal.

How much does a CSC charge for PMAY online application?

CSC operators charge an assisted-service fee of ₹25 plus applicable GST for filling and submitting the PMAY-U 2.0 application on your behalf.

Which vertical of PMAY-U 2.0 should be chosen?

  40. I have availed loan from lic hfl fo 40 lacs for purchase of residecial flat having 1150 sq.mt inthe month of july 2017 at surat Gujrat.

    At he time of taking loan i was not entitaled for loan sbsidy under PMAY scheme due to criteria of 1150 Sq mt of carpat area.
