Who is Eligible for Ayushman Bharat Yojana List?

Ayushman Bharat is an eligibility-based scheme, there is no open registration for most people. The government automatically selects beneficiaries based on the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 data for rural families and occupational categories for urban workers. If your family is already in these databases, your name will appear in the list.

For rural areas, families that fall into any of these categories are covered:

  • Deprived rural households - Families living in kutcha houses with one room, families without an adult male member aged 16-59, SC/ST households, and families with a disabled member and no other earning adult.
  • Automatic inclusion categories - Homeless people, destitute families, manual scavengers, primitive tribal groups, and legally released bonded laborers are automatically included.
  • Landless casual laborers - Rural families depending mainly on casual manual labor with no land of their own.

For urban areas, specific occupational categories are covered. These include rag pickers, domestic workers, street vendors, construction workers, plumbers, masons, security guards, coolies, sweepers, sanitation workers, home-based artisans, tailors, transport workers like rickshaw and cart pullers, electricians, mechanics, and washer men.

Additionally, all Indian citizens aged 70 years and above are eligible for the special Ayushman Vay Vandana benefit with an extra ₹5 lakh top-up coverage, regardless of their income or economic status.

Options to Find Your Name in PMJAY List

After logging into the beneficiary portal at beneficiary.nha.gov.in, you can search for your name using any of these methods depending on what details you have available:

  • Search by Aadhaar Number - This is the easiest and most reliable method in 2026. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and your details will show up if you are eligible. Aadhaar is now the main identifier on the portal.
  • Search by PMJAY ID or Family ID - If you already have your PMJAY or family ID from any previous interaction with the scheme, you can use that to quickly pull up your record.
  • Search by Mobile Number - Enter the mobile number linked to your PMJAY or Aadhaar registration to find your family record.
  • Search by Name (SECC) - You can also search by name by entering your name, father's name, district, and village. This works best for rural beneficiaries whose names are in the SECC 2011 database.

What to Do If Your Name is Not in the PMJAY List

If you cannot find your name, contact your nearest Ayushman Mitra at any empanelled government hospital. They can check your eligibility using their system and guide you on the next steps.

You can also call the PMJAY toll-free helpline at 14555 or 1800-111-565 to check your eligibility over the phone. The helpline is free and available all days. If you belong to an eligible category but your name is not showing, the helpline team can raise a request to get it resolved.

How to Download Ayushman Card After Finding Your Name

Once your name appears in the beneficiary list, you can download your Ayushman card directly from the portal. Here is how:

STEP 1 - Log in to beneficiary.nha.gov.in using your mobile number and OTP.

STEP 2 - After finding your name in the list, click "Do KYC" against your name. Complete the e-KYC using your Aadhaar OTP, fingerprint, or face capture (selfie). The card is usually ready within 15 minutes of completing KYC.

STEP 3 - Once KYC is done, a download icon will appear next to your name. Click it to save a PDF copy of your Ayushman card. You can also download it anytime from the Ayushman Bharat app available on Android and iPhone.

If you cannot complete KYC online, visit any Common Service Centre (CSC) with your Aadhaar card. The CSC operator will help you with the e-KYC and card generation for a nominal fee of around ₹30.
