Rajasthan government has launched Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana whose draft was approved earlier on 9 June 2021. In this Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Scheme, the state govt. is providing grant of Rs. 1,000 per month to all the agri consumers. Govt. is giving benefit of maximum Rs. 12,000 per year on electricity bills of metered agricultural consumers. What is Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana 2024
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the draft of Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Yojana in the month of May last year. Under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana, govt. is giving Rs. 1000 p.m or 12000 p.a on electricity bills to metered agricultural consumers. This मुख्यमंत्री किसान मित्र ऊर्जा योजना (MKMUY scheme) is costing the state exchequer @ Rs. 450 crore. The benefit of this scheme are being provided since May 2021.
Incentives on Electricity Bills under CM Kisan Mitra Energy Scheme
Under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana, electricity bills are issued by the DISCOMS to the eligible agricultural consumers on the basis of bi-monthly billing system. Around 60% of the bill amount is payable on a pro-rata basis by the government, subject to a maximum of Rs. 1,000 per month. Central and state government employees and income tax payers are not eligible for agricultural consumer subsidy.
How to Avail Assistance under Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Energy Scheme
All the eligible consumers will have to get their Aadhaar number and bank account linked with the MMKEY. The grant amount is payable only if the electricity distribution companies do not have arrears against the consumer. After paying the arrears, the subsidy amount will be payable to the consumer on the upcoming bills. The outstanding bill amount before the month of implementation of the scheme is not going to be adjusted in the grant.
If a farmer consumes less electricity and his bill is less than Rs. 1,000, then the difference between the actual bill and the grant amount will be deposited in his bank account. This Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Urja Yojana 2024 will encourage farmers to save electricity.
