PM Kisan Samman Nidhi pays ₹6,000 a year to eligible farmer families in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. This central government scheme sends the money straight to the bank account of every land holding farmer family, and PM Kisan eKYC is now required for all registered farmers.
Government of India released the 23rd installment on 20 June 2026 from Tarakeswar, Hooghly, West Bengal. Around 9.45 crore farmers got their share in that payment round. Farmers who have not done eKYC yet should finish it before the next payment round, otherwise the ₹2,000 support can be held back.

Why PM Kisan eKYC is Required
PM Kisan eKYC links Aadhaar with the bank account so that only real farmers receive the money. This stops duplicate claims, wrong payments and delays. If a farmer does not complete eKYC, the next installment payment can be held back.
eKYC also cuts corruption and middlemen. With Aadhaar-linked verification, the payment process becomes faster and fairer for everyone.
Who Gets PM Kisan Installment?
PM Kisan benefit goes to farmer families who meet the rules set by the central government. Only land holding farmer families that fit the eligibility list get the next installment.
- Indian citizens who are farmers and permanent residents of the country.
- Farmer families (husband, wife and minor children) who own cultivable land.
- Smal and marginal farmers working on small or medium farms.
The official website has also flagged some farmers for physical verification, for example farmers who bought land after 1 February 2019 or families where more than one member is getting the benefit. Such payments stay pending until the check is completed. Farmers can check their status on the Know Your Status page of the officialwebsite.
