New Krishak Bandhu rules announced in 2026
Agriculture Minister Dudh Kumar Mondal announced these changes at a press meet at Nabanna on 28 September 2026. BJP formed the government after the 2026 Assembly election, and Suvendu Adhikari became Chief Minister on 9 May 2026.
- Only one member of a family will get Krishak Bandhu from now on. Earlier, more than one member of the same family could get it.
- Farmers with less than 40 decimal of land (about 0.4 acre) will get ₹4,000 a year. Those with more than 40 decimal get ₹6,000 more, so ₹10,000 a year.
- Farmers who join Krishak Bandhu fresh will not get PM Kisan along with it.
- PM Kisan farmers in the state get an extra ₹3,000 a year from the state, so ₹9,000 in all. For this, Krishak Bandhu data is being matched with the PM Kisan database.
A formal order with these rules is not on the Krishak Bandhu portal yet. No payment date has been announced either. Officials said verification would finish by 30 September and payment to eligible farmers would start after that. The last installment paid was the Rabi one, which started on 8 January 2026.

How to check Krishak Bandhu beneficiary list 2026
STEP 1 - Open the Krishak Bandhu farmer search page at krishakbandhu.wb.gov.in/farmer_search. From the homepage, the same page opens through the "নথিভুক্ত কৃষকের তথ্য" (Registered Farmer's Information) link.
STEP 2 - Pick how you want to search: Aadhaar number, Voter ID (EPIC), acknowledgement number, mobile number, bank account number or Krishak Bandhu ID.
STEP 3 - Type the number, fill the captcha and click "Search". Your name, KB ID, approval status and payment details show up if you are in the Krishak Bandhu beneficiary list.

Who can stay in the Krishak Bandhu list
You must be a permanent resident of West Bengal and a farmer or recorded bargadar (sharecropper) with land records for the land you cultivate. Only one member per family can now get the benefit. The 18 to 60 age limit applies to the ₹2 lakh death benefit only, not to the yearly income support.
