Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Online Registration 2026 – Apply at dly.delhi.gov.in for ₹2,500 Per Month

Delhi government has opened online registration for Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, and eligible women can now apply on the official portal dly.delhi.gov.in. Under this scheme, the eldest woman of a qualifying family gets ₹2,500 every month. Delhi government has kept ₹5,110 crore for the scheme in the 2026-27 Budget, and around 17 lakh women in the capital are expected to come under it.

Department of Women and Child Development, Government of NCT of Delhi runs the scheme. Same scheme was promised as Mahila Samriddhi Yojana in the BJP manifesto for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, and the name was changed to Delhi Lakshmi Yojana in July 2026. Applications are taken online only. One condition catches most people off guard, so note it early: you need an endorsement letter signed by the MP or MLA of your constituency. Without that signed letter, the application stays incomplete.

Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Online Registration at dly.delhi.gov.in

Registration is done on the portal itself, and the whole thing takes about 15 to 20 minutes if your papers are ready. Keep your Aadhaar card, Delhi Voter ID, bank passbook and scanned copies of your documents in one folder before you start. Also keep the mobile number linked with Aadhaar with you, since the portal works around that number.

STEP 1 – Open dly.delhi.gov.in and click the “Apply” button on the homepage, then choose “Register Now” on the login box. In the Applicant Registration Form, enter your Aadhaar number, your name exactly as printed on Aadhaar, your date of birth, select Female as gender, type the captcha shown on screen and click Continue.

STEP 2 – Once your account is made, log in and start the application. First screen is the eligibility part. Answer every eligibility question honestly and confirm each condition. If you answer even one condition wrongly, the form gets rejected later at the checking stage.

STEP 3 – Fill your personal details. Name, Aadhaar number, date of birth, address and other basic information go here. Match every spelling with your Aadhaar card, because a mismatch is the most common reason applications get stuck.

STEP 4 – Enter the details of your family members. This part decides whether you are counted as the eldest woman in the household, so add every member correctly and do not skip anyone.

STEP 5 – Give your bank account details. Account number, IFSC code and bank name are entered here, and the monthly money will land in this same account. Use an account that is in your own name and linked with Aadhaar.

STEP 6 – Upload all required documents in the format the portal asks for. Aadhaar, Delhi Voter ID, your photo and signature, one residence proof and one age proof. Scan them clearly. A blurred upload gets sent back.

STEP 7 – Preview the full application. Read it once from top to bottom, fix anything wrong, then submit the final form.

STEP 8 – Upload the signed copy of the MP or MLA endorsement letter. Get this letter from the office of the sitting MP or MLA of your own constituency, sign the part they give you, scan it and upload. After this, download the acknowledgement receipt and save it. That receipt number is what you will use later.

Track Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Application Status

Portal has a separate “Track Application” option on the homepage. You do not need to log in for it. Just enter the mobile number you used at the time of registration and the status of your form shows up on screen. Check it every few days after applying, because if an officer sends the form back for a correction, you will only find out from here.

Mahila Samriddhi Yojana and Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Are One Scheme

Plenty of women in Delhi are still searching for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana registration and wondering whether they missed something. They did not. Both names belong to the same ₹2,500 monthly scheme. BJP promised it as Mahila Samriddhi Yojana in its manifesto for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, the Delhi cabinet approved it on 8 March 2025, and the payment could not start for months while the rules and the portal were being worked out.

On 13 July 2026, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s government renamed it Delhi Lakshmi Yojana while finalising the eligibility rules, and the cabinet cleared the final scheme in the last week of July 2026. Amount stayed the same at ₹2,500 a month. What changed is the name, the finalised eligibility list and the payment method. Anyone who had been following Delhi’s ₹2,500 scheme for ladies under the old name should now apply only through dly.delhi.gov.in, since no separate Mahila Samriddhi Yojana portal exists. The delay in launching Mahila Samriddhi Yojana ended with this renaming and rollout.

Who Can Apply for Delhi Lakshmi Yojana

Delhi government has kept the rules tight, and every condition below has to be met together, not just one or two of them. Age is counted as on the date you submit the application, so if you turn 61 next month, apply now.

• Applicant must be a woman and the eldest female member of her family. If two or three women in one house qualify, only the eldest one can apply.
• Age must be between 21 and 60 years on the date the application is submitted.
• Total yearly family income must not be more than ₹2,50,000.
• Applicant, or her husband, or one of her parents must have lived in Delhi for at least 10 years as on the date of application.
• Applicant must be a registered voter in Delhi, so her name should already be in the Delhi electoral roll.
• Family electricity use in the last 12 months must not cross 2,400 units.
• Applicant must not have more than three children.

Who Will Not Get Benefit

Exclusions matter as much as the eligibility list here, and many families will fall out because of a single point. Read this part carefully before you spend time filling the form.

• Women already getting any pension or money help from the central or Delhi government, including widow pension and disability pension.
• Income tax payers and GST filers.
• Government servants, and anyone holding a public office.
• Families where any member works as a regular or contract employee in the central government, state government, a public sector undertaking, a board, a local body or any government organisation.
• Families that own a four-wheeler.
• Families whose yearly electricity use crosses 2,400 units.
• Women with more than three living children.
• Women with a criminal record or criminal background.

Documents Required for Delhi Lakshmi Yojana

Four documents are compulsory for every applicant. Aadhaar Card, Delhi Voter ID Card, a photograph with signature of the applicant, and the endorsement letter from the MP or MLA of the constituency. Keep all four ready before you sit down to apply.

Along with these, you need one proof of 10 years of residence in Delhi. Delhi Voter ID Card, ration card, driving licence, or an electricity meter bill or gas connection bill and receipt are accepted for this. Any one of them works.

You also need one age proof. Birth certificate, school leaving certificate of the last class attended, matriculation or Class 10 certificate, driving licence, PAN card, Aadhaar card or Voter ID card, any one of these is fine.

How the ₹2,500 Will Reach You

Money does not come as one plain cash transfer. Under the payment model Delhi government prefers, ₹1,500 out of the ₹2,500 goes into a recurring deposit or fixed deposit in the woman’s name, so that she builds some savings month after month. Remaining ₹1,000 is credited to a Central Bank Digital Currency wallet, which is the digital rupee wallet, for daily household spending.

Spending from that digital wallet comes with rules. Delhi government has fixed a negative list, and the wallet money cannot be used to buy liquor, paan, gutka, cigarettes, bidis or other intoxicants, and it cannot be used for online gaming or gambling. Everyday needs like grocery and household items are what the wallet is meant for.

How Applications Will Be Checked

Delhi government has set up a three level checking system so that only eligible women get the money. At the first level, the District Project Management Unit checks the fields and documents in your form and marks whether the application is complete or incomplete.

At the second level, the District Women and Child Development Officer either recommends the application for further processing or does not recommend it. At the third level, the District Level Approval, Monitoring and Grievance Redressal Committee, called DLAMGRC, looks at the recommended applications and either approves them or sends them back to the applicant with a reply. So a form sent back is not always a rejection, it can simply need a correction.

District officers have also been told to work with district magistrates and hold registration camps, and to identify at least 100 eligible women from every district in the first round. Anganwadi workers and other field staff will bring eligible women in for registration, help them complete the forms with the right papers, and coordinate with MPs and MLAs where the endorsement letter is needed. Why the MP or MLA Letter Was Added

Delhi has 70 MLAs and 7 MPs, and all of them will be signing these endorsement letters. Officials say the clause was put in to keep the process clear and to bring elected representatives into the loop, and that a similar condition existed earlier for the widow pension scheme before it was dropped.

Not everyone agrees with it. Some lawyers working on public policy have said the requirement makes approvals restrictive and could cut down the number of women who finally get the money. Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood has said MLAs of any party can verify the documents and that this is how most state welfare schemes have always worked. Practically speaking, start the letter process early, because that one signature can take longer than the online form itself.
