Maharashtra government released the third list of Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana 2026 on 12 October 2026, and it has 3,51,192 farmers. Farmers in this list now can check their loan dues and finish Aadhaar authentication to get the crop loan waiver of up to ₹2 lakh.

No government website has published one statewide karj mafi list PDF. District-wise lists are sent to bank branches, vikas seva sahakari societies (PACS) and gram panchayats, and that is where you can see your name.

Maharashtra karj mafi third list: what changed on 12 October

Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil announced the third list. Loan dues in it are shown as they stood on 31 March 2026. Interest and other charges added after 1 April 2026 are waived, so your passbook may show a slightly higher amount than the list. That difference is expected.

Some farmers with nationalized or commercial bank loans will see dues above ₹2 lakh in the list. Under the government's "hair cut" policy, these accounts are still being cleared fully. A figure above ₹2 lakh does not mean you are out, but confirm the details with your bank branch.

How to check your name in the karj mafi list

There is no public online name search for this scheme. Banks uploaded loan data to a portal built by MahaIT, and the lists come back down to the local level. Use these steps.

STEP 1 - Go to the bank branch where your crop loan is running. For district central cooperative bank loans, go to your vikas seva sahakari society. The district-wise third list is available at both places, and gram panchayat offices also put it up.

STEP 2 - Find your name, village and loan account number in the list. Note the outstanding amount shown as on 31 March 2026.

STEP 3 - Match that amount with your bank records. If your name, Aadhaar number, account number or loan amount is wrong, tell the bank right away.

STEP 4 - Visit the nearest Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra with your Aadhaar card and loan account details and complete Aadhaar authentication. Around 32,000 such centres are working across the state. Farmers in the list also get an SMS asking them to do this.

STEP 5 - After authentication, the waiver amount goes straight into your crop loan account by DBT. Check your loan statement or passbook a few days later.

Complaints about Aadhaar details, loan amounts or account numbers go on the scheme portal. A district-level committee headed by the Collector settles them.

Who can get the loan waiver

Short-term crop loans, including restructured and re-restructured ones, qualify only if they meet all of these conditions.

  • Loan was given between 1 April 2019 and 31 March 2025.
  • Loan was overdue on 30 September 2025 and still unpaid on 31 March 2026.
  • Outstanding amount, principal plus interest, is up to ₹2 lakh. There is no land holding limit.
  • Loans from nationalised, private, regional rural and district central cooperative banks are covered, along with PACS loans given from their own funds.

Farmers who pay income tax cannot get the waiver. Farmers who got the 2019 Mahatma Jyotirao Phule waiver are now eligible for up to ₹2 lakh, instead of the ₹50,000 limit first planned for them. Not having an Agristack Farmer ID will not stop an eligible farmer from getting the benefit. The full list of excluded groups is in the Shetkari Karj Mukti Yojana eligibility article.

FAQ's

Do I need to apply online for karj mafi?

No. Banks have already uploaded loan data for the scheme. If your name is in a list, you only need to verify the dues and complete Aadhaar authentication.

My name was in an earlier list but money has not come. Why?

Usually Aadhaar authentication is pending, or your bank has not yet sent corrected data. Phase 3 was paid to accounts whose banks had sent updated details, and the rest will be paid once the other banks finish.

Will there be a fourth karj mafi list?

The Cooperation Department has said remaining eligible farmers will be added in phases as verification continues. No date for the next list has been announced yet.
