छत्तीसगढ़ श्री धन्वंतरी जेनेरिक मेडिकल स्टोर योजना 2024: Chhattisgarh government has launched Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store Scheme to provide medicines at affordable rates to poor people. The new CG Shri Dhanwantari Generic Medical Store Yojana is another effort of CM Bhupesh Baghel led state govt. to make healthcare services accessible to the poorest of poor in the state. In CG Budget 2022-23: नागरिकों को उचित मूल्य पर जेनेरिक दवाईयां एवं सर्जिकल सामान उपलब्ध कराने के लिये 136 श्री धनवंतरी जेनेरिक मेडिकल स्टोर्स की स्थापना की गई है। इस योजना के तहत अबतक 17 करोड़ 92 लाख बाजार मूल्य की दवाईयों पर 10 करोड़ रूपये की छूट देते हुए 5 लाख 92 हजार नागरिकों को लाभान्वित किया गया है।

What is CG Shri Dhanwantari Generic Medical Store Yojana 2024

Under the Shri Dhanwantari Generic Medical Store Yojana, medicines will be made available at affordable rates to consumers. CM Bhupesh Baghel started CG Dhanvantri Generic Medical Store Scheme from his official residence through video conferencing. CG Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store scheme is now started where people will get a discount between 50.09% and 71% on the MRP of medicines.

Launch of CG Shri Dhanvantri Generic Medical Store Yojana 2024

CM Bhupesh Baghel has launched CG Shri Dhanvantri Medical Store Yojana on 20 October 2021 (Wednesday). Addressing the inaugural function of Shri Dhanwantari Generic Medical Store Yojana virtually from his official residence, CM Baghel said the state government has been making consistent efforts to make expensive health services available to the poorest of the poor and many schemes have been started to achieve this goal.

Discount on Generic Medicines at Dhanwantri Medical Stores

On the occasion, the Chief Minister appealed to doctors and pharmacists to contribute in promoting generic medicines and requested public representatives to popularise the Dhanvantri scheme.

Implementation of Dhanvantari Generic Medical Store Yojana

Urban Administration and Development Department of Chhattisgarh govt. will implement CG Shri Dhanwantari Generic Medical Store Yojana. Around 188 medical stores will be opened in 169 urban bodies of the state under Dhanvantari Scheme.

It will be mandatory for these medical stores to sell 251 types of generic medicines and 27 surgical products. Besides, herbal products of the forest department, cosmetics items and baby food, among others, will also be sold in these stores.

Need for CG Shri Dhanwantari Generic Medical Store Yojana

CM Bhupesh Baghel led Chhattisgarh govt. is implementing several programmes in health sector to improve quality of life of people. The increasing cost of healthcare services has become a major cause of concern for all in the world. People often had to bear the brunt of debt due to medical expenses. So to provide some relief on cost of medicines, the state govt. has launched CG Dhanwantari Generic Medical Store Yojana.

With the goal of universal health coverage, state government has started Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic Yojna to provide better health services in remote areas and Mukhyamantri Shahari Slum Health Scheme in urban areas. Dai-Didi mobile clinic scheme has also been started for women and adolescent girls.

Opposition party BJP alleged that the state government is promising to give only 50% discount on medicines under the Dhanwantri scheme, which is not sufficient. It is because people are already getting 70% to 80% concession in medicine prices at Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
