Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi Yojana: Cash Support for Anganwadi Beneficiaries

Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi Yojana was a cash support scheme launched by the Bihar state government for Anganwadi beneficiaries. Under this scheme, pregnant women, lactating mothers and children who were already getting cooked food and dry ration from Anganwadi centres were given an equivalent cash amount directly in their bank accounts.

Scheme has been closed or it was a one time scheme which has been closed by the government.

Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi Yojana was started by the state government to provide support to pregnant women and children. All those pregnant women and children who were getting food and dry ration from Anganwadi centres were given cash in place of the food and dry ration during the Coronavirus pandemic. Pregnant women and children could use this cash amount for their proper nutrition. Objectives of Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi Yojana

The Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi Yojana was started during the Coronavirus lockdown when pregnant women were unable to reach Anganwadi centres and were unable to get nutritious food and ration benefits. So, ICDS Bihar decided to transfer cash directly to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries. To get the scheme benefit, eligible beneficiaries had to apply online for the Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi Yojana. After filling the application and registration form and on approval, pregnant women got the support amount directly in their bank accounts.

Who are Anganwadi Beneficiaries

The scheme covered the following people who were registered at Anganwadi centres:

• Registered children in Anganwadi Centres
• Lactating Mothers
• Pregnant Women

All the beneficiaries including children and pregnant women got cash amount transferred into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. The Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi application form was filled only through online mode. The Social Welfare Department and the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) of Bihar had issued an official notification. As per the notification, children and pregnant women aged 6 months to 6 years were given food and dry ration.

• Earlier, ICDS had released an official notification in which infants and pregnant ladies got dry ration and cooked food from Anganwadi centres.

The state government of Bihar sent cash to all registered Anganwadi beneficiaries bank accounts in place of the food and dry ration given through Anganwadi centres. The application for this scheme was filled only through the online process on the ICDS portal.

STEP 1: Visit the official website of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) of Bihar at icdsaangan.bihar.gov.in

STEP 2: The Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi apply online homepage appeared as shown below:

STEP 3: Then at the homepage, the applicant clicked on the link in front of the text about giving the equivalent amount directly to the bank account of beneficiaries already registered in Anganwadi centres in Bihar, in place of the hot cooked food and THR given through Anganwadi during the Coronavirus infection.

STEP 4: The applicant was then directed to a new page for the online registration of children, lactating women and pregnant women already registered at different Anganwadi centres in Bihar.

STEP 5: Accordingly, the applicant clicked on the "click here to fill the form" link to open the Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi online application form as shown below:

STEP 6: Applicants could fill in all the required details accurately and click on the "register" tab to complete the apply online process.

STEP 7: Then applicants could make the login by clicking on the "click here to login" link in front of the "already registered user" text. This opened the Anganwadi beneficiaries login page to apply for the scheme as shown below:

STEP 8: Applicants could enter their aadhaar number, mobile number, validate mobile number and password and click on the "login" tab to complete the apply online process.

The Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi application form PDF was earlier available on the ICDS portal at icdsonline.bih.nic.in. Since the scheme has been closed, the old application portal is no longer accepting new registrations. The current ICDS portal of Bihar is available at icdsaangan.bihar.gov.in.

Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi Yojana Notification PDF

The Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi Anudan Yojana notification was earlier available on the old ICDS portal at icdsonline.bih.nic.in. Since the scheme has been closed, this notification link is no longer active. The current ICDS portal of Bihar is available at icdsaangan.bihar.gov.in.

The children and pregnant women aged 6 months to 6 years who were unable to visit the Anganwadi centres received Rs. 1000 in their account. The main motive of the Corona Sahayata Yojana for Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi was to provide support to the workers and the children working at the Anganwadi centres. Due to lockdown, they had to face a huge crisis of food and various essential items. Therefore, the authority was helping the poor ones by providing some financial help.

The important features and highlights of the Bihar Anganwadi Labharthi Anudan Yojana are as follows:

• Support Amount - Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the equivalent amount of Rs. 1000 was paid directly to the bank account in place of hot cooked food and THR given through the Anganwadi centres.
• Beneficiaries - The benefits were available only to the beneficiaries registered in Anganwadi centres. These include children registered at Anganwadi centres, lactating women and pregnant women.
• Mode of Application - To get the support, the registration and application form had to be filled online. No form had to be submitted in Anganwadi. However, the applicants could check the offline application format for this scheme for their convenience.
