WB Free Tablet Scheme 2024 has been announced by the West Bengal government on 3 December 2020. In this scheme, the state govt. will provide free tabs for students in West Bengal. CM Mamata Banerjee announced that around 9.5 lakh students studying in govt. / govt. aided schools would be benefited under Free Tablets Scheme. Each of the beneficiary will get one tab each in this free tablet distribution scheme. In this article, we will tell you about the apply online process and how to fill WB Free Tablet Scheme application form.

WB Free Tablet Scheme 2024

As the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak has made students to suffer in their education. So, the WB state govt. has announced to provide free tablets to around 9.5 lakh students. Those students who are studying in class 12 in government schools, government-aided schools and madrasas will get free tabs. Computers would also be also provided to every secondary school to facilitate online education during Coronavirus pandemic.

How to Apply Online for Free Tablets Scheme in West Bengal

Just like free tablets, laptop, smartphone distribution schemes in other states like Karnataka etc, the state govt. of West Bengal may invite WB Free Tablet Scheme application form. To get tablet free of cost, each of the student in govt. / aided school or madrasa may have to fill registration form for tab at the https://wb.gov.in/ or at a new dedicated portal. The official notification for WB Free Tablets Scheme is not out yet and it is still now unknown about the apply online process for Free Tabs Scheme in West Bengal.

The launch of a new dedicated portal along with its website link would be available only after the official launch of WB Free Tab Scheme. As soon as the WB Free Tablets Scheme registration form filling process begins, we will update it here.

Eligibility Criteria for WB Free Tab Scheme 2024

Only those candidates who fulfills the below mentioned criteria would be eligible for WB Free Tab Scheme 2024:-

  • Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal state.
  • He / She must be studying in any of the government / govt. aided school or madrasas.
  • Candidate must be studying in class 12th.
  • The annual income of the family of the applicant from all sources must not exceed Rs. 2 lakh per annum.
  • The applicant must be cleared in all his previous attended examinations i.e he / she must not have backlogs.

Need for WB Free Tablet Scheme

CM Mamata Banerjee has announced to provide free of cost tabs to around 9.5 lakh students. There are around 36,000 government and government-aided secondary schools, around 14,000 higher secondary schools and 636 madrasahs in the state. Many students are not being able to follow the online classes. The tabs would help the students even when they are pursuing their graduation. Chief minister also announced 3% dearness allowance for 10 lakh state government employees from 1 January 2021. This would cost the state exchequer Rs 2200 crore.

West Bengal Govt. Steps on Job Creation

CM even mentioned that Information Technology (IT) firms in West Bengal have registered 133% growth in the last eight years and IT exports have gone up by 175%. Many more investments are coming. On December 1, West Bengal govt. cleared 20 proposals of setting up IT offices at Bengal Silicon Valley Hub with a proposed investment of Rs 3000 crore. They would directly employ 9000 IT professionals.

At present over 1500 IT companies, including Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant and IBM among others, have their offices in West Bengal. The state has around 2.1 lakh IT professionals. CM listed out a series of expansion plans of some of the top IT firms in the state and mentioned that while Nxtra Data of Bharti Airtel has come up with a proposal of Rs 350 crores, Wipro has an expansion plan worth Rs 500 crores in the state.

Tata Consultancy Services is expected to increase their employment from the present 44,000 to around 61,000. Very soon their operation in West Bengal would be larger than their Bengaluru operation. CM added that while Cognizant Technology Solutions is also expected to expand further, ITC Infotech has almost completed their project in New Town and will employ around 3000 IT professionals there.

IT services giant Infosys will start construction of a proposed software development centre in the state by July 2021. They have been allotted 50 acres of land. Our youth will not have to roam in other states and across the world looking for jobs. They can work here.

Sir,i need a phone to read online.I’m in class 10.Actually,not only 12 can’t read and also 10 class can’t read.My parents don’t have money.My father is too weak to work.Every madhyamik candidates still online for class and of them maximum students can’t read online because he don’t have any mobile phone.I’m kindly requested that please do something.I hope you did it.
