Stipend Scheme (P.B.O.C.W.W.B) offers financial support to children of registered construction workers in Punjab for their education, including hostel fees. Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, under Department of Labour, runs this scheme, and workers can also use it to continue their own studies through evening classes.

This scheme is open for the 2026-27 academic year. Registered beneficiary families can apply at the nearest Sewa Kendra or through the official portal bocw.punjab.gov.in. Stipend amount changes as per class and gender of the student.

Stipend Scheme (P.B.O.C.W.W.B) - Overview

Stipend Scheme works as a welfare measure for registered construction workers of Punjab. It gives cash stipend to cover education costs of their children, from primary school up to medical and engineering courses. The support also covers hostel charges for college students and helps workers who want to study in evening classes at approved institutes.

The board transfers the approved stipend amount directly to the bank account of the beneficiary. Families who already get education benefits from any other Punjab government department can still apply for this stipend.
