Madhya Pradesh Labour Welfare Board is running Shram Kalyan Shaikshanik Chatravriti Yojana in 2026 for children of factory and establishment workers, with a yearly scholarship of ₹2,000 to ₹12,500 paid straight into the student's bank account. Class 5 students get ₹2,000 a year, and an MBBS or BDS student can get up to ₹12,500 a year.
Applications are taken every year, and the scholarship is not renewed on its own. A student has to apply fresh each academic year with the latest mark sheet, after the parent's employer signs and stamps the form with the SKML code.
Shram Kalyan Shaikshanik Chatravriti Yojana Details
Scheme is run by Madhya Pradesh Shram Kalyan Mandal (Labour Welfare Board) under Labour Department. Money for it comes from the Labour Welfare Fund, in which registered factories and establishments deposit their contribution. So the benefit is meant only for the children of workers of those registered units.
One point worth knowing. Caste is not a condition here. General category students also get this scholarship, which is not the case with most other state scholarships. But the parent must be covered under PF for at least one year, and only two children of one family can take the benefit.
How to Apply Online
STEP 1 - Open the Madhya Pradesh Shram Kalyan Mandal portal at shramkalyanmandal.mponline.gov.in, which is the current online service portal for board schemes. Applications are also accepted through Lok Seva Guarantee portal and any Lok Seva Kendra.
STEP 2 - Find Shaikshanik Chhatravritti Yojana in the scheme list and open the scheme page. Read the rules given there and download the application form in PDF format.
STEP 3 - Take a printout of the form and fill it by hand with the student's details, the parent's factory or establishment details, and the bank account number. Bank account has to be in the child's name, otherwise the form gets rejected.
STEP 4 - Give the filled form to the parent's employer. The employer fills the verification part and puts the seal, signature and the unit's SKML code. Without this the form will not be accepted at any stage.
STEP 5 - Scan the form and all documents clearly. Self attest each document, except Samagra ID. Also get the school or college certificate saying the student is not taking any other scholarship.
STEP 6 - Log in on the portal, fill the same details online, add Aadhaar number and Samagra ID, and upload the scanned papers. Samagra ID must already be linked with Aadhaar or the form will not go ahead.
STEP 7 - Submit before the last date given for that academic year and save the acknowledgement receipt. Forms sent after the closing date are not taken up by the board, and there is no relaxation on this.

Who Can Apply
Rules are simple but they are checked strictly at the time of verification. Read each point below before filling the form, because a wrong claim leads to rejection later.
- Student should be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh and should be studying in a school or college inside the state.
- Parent should be working in a factory or establishment of Madhya Pradesh registered under Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1982, and should be covered under PF for at least one year.
- Only two children of one family can get this scholarship, so a third child is not covered.
- Student must have passed the previous class or exam, as failed students are not paid for a repeat year.
- Student should not be taking any other government scholarship, and applying under two schemes together leads to rejection.
- Children of officers and staff working in managerial posts are kept out of this scheme.
Documents Required
Keep all papers scanned and ready before starting, since the online form asks for uploads in one go. Missing employer verification is the most common reason forms get rejected.
- Filled application form in the given format with employer seal, signature and SKML code.
- Mark sheet of the last passed class or year.
- Aadhaar card of the student and the parent, and Samagra ID linked with Aadhaar.
- First page of the bank passbook, with the account in the child's name.
- Income certificate, residence certificate and age proof.
- Certificate from school or college saying the student is not getting any other scholarship.
- Passport size photograph and a working mobile number.
Payment and Status
After the regional office approves the form, the amount is sent by DBT payment in the student's own bank account. There is no cash or cheque payment. If the account is not active, or the name does not match Aadhaar, the payment fails and has to be corrected at the regional office of the board.
For any problem with the form, payment or employer verification, the board can be contacted on 0755 6720222 and 0755 4019000. Office address is 3rd Floor, State IT Park, Abbas Nagar, near RGPV, Gandhi Nagar, Bhopal 462033.
Other Scholarships to Check
Students of Madhya Pradesh who do not fit the worker condition here can look at other state scholarships. For hostel students of higher secondary there is Sudama Shishyavritti Yojana, and for college students there is Post Matric Scholarship for Class 11th, 12th and College.
