Main department running the scheme is the Tribal Welfare and Scheduled Caste Department of Madhya Pradesh. Applications are handled on MPTAAS (Madhya Pradesh Tribal Affairs Automation System). Students of the Higher Education Department stream may also be routed through MP Scholarship Portal 2.0 at hescholarship.mp.gov.in, so it is better to check with the college which portal applies to that course.
One point that has changed in recent cycles is eKYC. Aadhaar eKYC is now required for new profile registration as well as for profile updates. Without it, the payment cannot move to the bank account. Many students also have to finish One Time Registration on the National Scholarship Portal before the state application gets processed, so that step should be done early.
Scholarship Amount and Benefits
Support is not a single fixed amount. It is a mix of fee payment and monthly allowance, and the exact figure depends on the course group and hosteller or day scholar status.

Apply Online Through MPTAAS
Online application has two parts. First a beneficiary profile is created, then the scholarship application is filled after login. Keep the Aadhaar linked mobile number handy because OTP is needed for eKYC.
STEP 1 - Open the MPTAAS portal of the Tribal Affairs Department.
STEP 2 - Click on New Beneficiary Profile Registration and complete Aadhaar eKYC with the OTP that comes on the registered mobile number.
STEP 3 - Fill every required field carefully. Name, father's name, date of birth and caste details must match the documents exactly, otherwise the application gets rejected during checking.
STEP 4 - Upload the required documents in the file size and format shown on the screen, then submit and save the registration number that appears.
STEP 5 - Log in with the user ID and password, pick PMS (Post Matric Scholarship), and select admission year, application type as fresh or renewal, and course year.
STEP 6 - Enter college details such as district, institute name, admission date and admission ID, then enter the income certificate number and date.
STEP 7 - Check the preview page once, tick the declaration box and submit. Print the confirmation and give a copy to the college office if the college asks for it.
STEP 8 - Track the status later with the application ID on the same portal. If the college has not verified the form for a long time, follow up with the college scholarship clerk.
Offline Application
Students who face trouble with the online form can still apply at the district office.
STEP 1 - Visit the office of the Assistant Commissioner Tribal Affairs or the District Coordinator Tribal Welfare Department during working hours and collect the application form.
STEP 2 - Fill the form, paste a recent passport size photo and attach self attested copies of all documents.
STEP 3 - Submit the form at the same office and collect the receipt, which is needed later to check the status.
Documents Required
Keep scanned copies ready before starting the form, since the portal times out if papers are searched in between. Dates for the 2026-27 session have not been notified on the portal yet. In earlier cycles the fresh application window opened somewhere between July and November and closed around December or January, and the renewal window generally closed around January. So any date floating on other websites should be treated as unconfirmed until the department puts out the notice. Best practice is to finish the profile registration and eKYC now, because that part can be done any time and saves the last minute rush.
