Madhya Pradesh School Education Department is running Sudama Shishyavritti Scheme for class 11 and class 12 students who come from BPL families and stay in a hostel. Girl students get ₹5,250 every year and boys get ₹5,000 every year, and the money is sent straight to the student bank account.

Scheme is still running in the 2026-27 session with the same benefit amounts. No online form is filled by the student. School principal and teachers enter the student profile on Education Portal (shikshaportal.mp.gov.in), so the whole work happens through the government school itself.

Sudama Shishyavritti Yojana Madhya Pradesh 2026 Details

Scheme is run by School Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Aim is simple. Bright students from poor families often drop out after class 10 because hostel fees, books and exam fees become heavy. This yearly scholarship covers part of that cost so the student can finish class 12 without leaving school. Only students of government schools located at district or development block headquarters, and living in a hostel, come under it. Day-scholar students are not covered.

One thing students often mix up. Sudama Pre-Matric Scholarship is a different scheme for class 9 and 10 BPL students, where boys get ₹300 and girls get ₹400 per year. Sudama Shishyavritti for class 11 and 12 gives much bigger amounts as it is meant for hostel stay costs.

How to Apply for Sudama Shishyavritti Scheme

Application is offline through the school, but the record goes online on Education Portal. Follow these steps.

STEP 1 - Meet the Principal of your government school and tell them you want to apply under Sudama Shishyavritti Scheme for class 11 or class 12. Ask which teacher is handling scholarship entries in your school this session.

STEP 2 - Collect and submit copies of your required documents to that teacher. This includes your Madhya Pradesh domicile certificate, BPL certificate or ration card, income certificate, last class marksheet with first division, Samagra ID, Aadhaar card and bank passbook first page.

STEP 3 - Teacher will enter your profile and scholarship details on Education Portal of Madhya Pradesh (shikshaportal.mp.gov.in) using your Samagra ID. Sit with the teacher and check that your name, Samagra ID, bank account number and IFSC code are typed correctly, because a wrong account number is the most common reason payment gets stuck.

STEP 4 - Department checks the entry and the documents. Once approved, the yearly amount comes as DBT payment into the student bank account. You can ask your school for the sanction status, or check payment status on Education Portal using your Samagra ID.
