Madhya Pradesh government runs Scholarships for Meritorious Students to Study Abroad for students who get admission in foreign universities for a Master's degree or PhD. Higher Education Department picks 20 students every year and gives them money help of up to $40,000 a year, so tuition and study costs do not become a reason to drop the plan.
Family income limit for this scholarship is ₹8 lakh a year. For the 2026-27 session, the online application window on the state scholarship portal stayed open till 25 May 2026, 6 PM, and applications for the next round are expected to open again in the coming session. Students who are planning admission for 2027 should keep their marksheets, passport and test scores ready in advance.
Scholarships for Meritorious Students to Study Abroad Madhya Pradesh
This scholarship is run by Higher Education Department, Madhya Pradesh, for students of the state who have already got admission in a foreign university. Earlier the form was taken offline at the Commissioner Higher Education office. Now the process has moved online and forms are accepted through the state scholarship portal at hescholarship.mp.gov.in, so students sitting in any district can apply without travelling to Bhopal.
Selection is based on merit, family income and the ranking of the foreign university where admission is taken. Students going for science, technology, management, humanities and research-based courses can all apply. Only 20 seats are given in a year, so marks and the university profile matter a lot.
