Uttar Pradesh govt. has completed the RTE UP Admission 2026-27 process for reserved seats in private schools under the Right to Education Act. All three rounds of online registration at rte25.upsdc.gov.in ran between 2 February and 27 March 2026, and the final lottery result of Round 3 came out on 27 March 2026.

Under Right to Education (RTE) Act 2009, private schools in Uttar Pradesh must reserve 25% of seats in Nursery, LKG, UKG and Class 1 for children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups. Basic Education Department released a fresh government order on 8 September 2025 for the 2026-27 cycle, and parents applied online through rte25.upsdc.gov.in in three separate rounds this year. Applications for the next cycle, RTE UP Admission 2027-28, are expected to open around February 2027 on the same portal, following the pattern of previous years.

RTE UP Admission Online Application Form for Students

Below is the process that applicants followed to fill the UP RTE Admission Form 2026-27. Registration will open again on the same portal for the 2027-28 cycle, and the steps should stay similar:-

STEP 1 - Visit the official website at https://rte25.upsdc.gov.in/

STEP 2 - On the homepage, click the "Online Application / Student Login" link on the right side of the page, or go directly to http://rte25.upsdc.gov.in/StudentLogin.aspx

STEP 3 - On the Student Login window, click "New Student Registration".

STEP 4 - Fill the Student Registration Form with the child's details, district and area.

STEP 5 - Enter the required details and click the "Register" button at the bottom. A registration number gets sent to the mobile number given in the form.

STEP 6 - Use the registration number to log in and open the full application form. Print the registration slip and click "Complete the Form".

STEP 7 - Fill the full application form as shown below:-

STEP 8 - Fill parent details and address, upload the required documents (photo, income or caste certificate, age proof), and pick up to 10 nearby schools in order of preference from the school list. Click "Save".

STEP 9 - Check the application preview and click "Lock and Final Print". Then click "Final Print" to take a printout of the completed form.

Documents Required for RTE UP Admission

Applicants need to upload proof of category along with general documents. Required papers depend on whether the child is applying under the economically weaker section or the disadvantaged group category:-

• Income certificate from the Tehsildar for economically weaker section applicants, along with a BPL or Antyodaya ration card issued by the Food and Civil Supplies Department.
• Caste certificate for SC, ST or OBC applicants under the disadvantaged group, or a medical certificate for HIV or cancer patients, or proof for orphan, disabled or widow pension beneficiaries.
• Residence proof such as voter ID, ration card, Aadhaar card, driving licence, electricity or water bill, or domicile certificate, along with the child's birth certificate as age proof and a recent passport size photo.

If a school does not show up in the RTE UP Admission School List, applicants can request the UP government to add it through the "Citizen Request (Add School)" link on the homepage.
