The Dean and Joint Director (Education) of IARI look after the awarding process. The Standing Committee on Scholarships, Financial Assistance and Academic Progress checks the merit of every student from the time of admission and keeps tracking performance in the Post Graduate School.
Students admitted under the General Open Competition at IARI get this scholarship for the full duration of their course. The scholarship amount is paid through DBT, and students need to maintain the required OGPA to keep getting it.

Benefits

For in-service candidates or departmental students, the scholarship amount is adjusted with the leave salary, so the total monthly benefit stays at a maximum of ₹3,000.
Eligibility
To get this scholarship, a student should hold valid Indian nationality and study full time. A student cannot hold any other paid appointment at the same time.
For M.Sc. or M.Tech. programs, the student needs a bachelor's degree under the 10+2+4, 10+2+3 or 10+1+4 system, or a B.Sc. degree under the 10+2+2 system (before 1985).
For Ph.D. courses, the student must have at least 60% marks or an OGPA of 7.50 out of 10 in the Master's program. For SC, ST or PC candidates, the requirement is 55% marks or an OGPA of 7.00 out of 10. The minimum age for Ph.D. admission is 21 years as of 31 July of the admission year.
Application Process
Application for the IARI scholarship starts from the official website at iari.res.in. Students can also get the application form and Information Bulletin from the Post Graduate School office.
STEP 1 - Go to the official website at iari.res.in and open the Graduate School section to download the application form and the Information Bulletin for 2026-27.
STEP 2 - Fill the application form with correct details and attach the required documents listed below.
STEP 3 - Submit the form to the Registrar, Post Graduate School, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi 110012. The application fee is ₹500 for General/OBC candidates and ₹250 for SC/ST/PC candidates. If the form is sent by post, a crossed Demand Draft of ₹575 has to be sent along with the complete address.
Employed candidates should send the application through their current employer. Always mention the serial number, program and discipline in all correspondence.
