Madhya Pradesh government is running Scheme to Promote Mechanization for the Development of Horticulture in 2026, and farmers can apply online for subsidy on machines like power tillers, small tractors, sprayers and diggers. Subsidy goes up to ₹1,50,000 for a tractor with rotavator, and the department picks final farmers through an online lottery after checking documents.

Horticulture and Food Processing Department, Madhya Pradesh runs this scheme under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH). Farmers get 35% to 50% money help on approved machines and equipment. Biggest change this year is the apply process. Earlier farmers had to visit the district office with a paper form. Now applications are taken on the MPFSTS portal.

Scheme to Promote Mechanization for the Development of Horticulture 2026 Online Apply Process

Apply process is online now. Farmers register once on the MPFSTS portal of the Horticulture Department and then pick the machine they want subsidy for. Keep your Aadhaar linked mobile number with you, because the portal sends an OTP during registration.

STEP 1 - Open the MPFSTS portal at mpfsts.mp.gov.in and look for the farmer registration option on the home page. New farmers have to register first, old registered farmers can go straight to login.

STEP 2 - Fill your name, Aadhaar number, mobile number, district, block and village in the registration form. Check the OTP that comes on your mobile and finish the registration to get your farmer ID.

STEP 3 - Log in with that farmer ID and open the scheme list. Pick the horticulture mechanization component and then choose the exact machine, for example power tiller, power weeder or tractor up to 20 HP.

STEP 4 - Upload scanned copies of Aadhaar, bank passbook and land record (khasra or B-1). File size limits are shown on the upload screen, so keep clear scans ready.

STEP 5 - Submit the form and save the application number. Selection happens through an online lottery after the department checks your documents, so applying does not mean the subsidy is confirmed.

STEP 6 - If your name comes in the lottery, buy the machine from a registered vendor listed on the portal, get the physical verification done, and the subsidy amount comes to your bank account.

Who Can Apply

Rules are simple and most farming families in the state fit in them. One farmer can normally take subsidy on one machine of the same type only once in the fixed year gap set by the department, so check with your block office before applying again for the same item.

  • Applicant must be a farmer doing horticulture work like fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices or medicinal crops.
  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh with land record in own name or joint family name.
  • Bank account has to be linked with Aadhaar, because payment comes as DBT payment after verification.
  • SC, ST, small and marginal farmers get the higher subsidy rate, so keep the caste certificate or small farmer certificate ready.

Documents Needed

Keep soft copies ready before you sit for the online form, otherwise the session times out and the form has to be filled again.

  • Aadhaar card of the applicant farmer.
  • Bank passbook first page showing account number and IFSC code.
  • Land papers like khasra, khatauni or B-1 copy.
  • Caste certificate for SC and ST farmers, or small or marginal farmer certificate where it applies.
  • Passport size photo and Aadhaar linked mobile number for OTP.

Machines Covered and Why They Help

Horticulture work is labour heavy. Digging pits for a mango orchard, spraying a tall guava plantation, or lifting onion and garlic crop takes many days when done by hand. Power tillers, post hole diggers, tree pruners and blast sprayers cut that time and reduce labour cost. Department has kept the machine list wide so both small vegetable growers and orchard owners find something useful.

Along with machines, the same MIDH funding in Madhya Pradesh also covers polyhouses, shade net houses, plastic mulching, dragon fruit and banana planting, pack houses, cold rooms, onion storage structures, vermicompost units and mushroom units. Farmers who want more than one benefit can check those components in the same portal login.
