Benefits
Income Support
Farmers with less than 40 decimal (about 0.4 acre) of land get ₹4,000 a year, and farmers with more get ₹10,000 a year, as announced on 28 September 2026. The amount is paid in two installments, one each for Kharif and Rabi. Under the earlier KB(N) rule, farmers with one acre or more got ₹10,000 a year and smaller farmers got a pro-rata amount of at least ₹4,000 a year (₹2,000 per installment).
Death Benefit
If a registered farmer dies between the ages of 18 and 60, the legal heirs get a one-time ₹2,00,000. There is no premium to pay.
Payment
All money goes by DBT to the farmer's Aadhaar-linked bank account. No date has been announced for the next installment. It will be paid after the verification is complete.
Eligibility
For Income Support
You must be a permanent resident of West Bengal and a farmer or recorded bargadar (sharecropper) with land records for the land you cultivate. Only one member per family can get the benefit. There is no age limit for the income support part. As per the minister's statement, farmers who join Krishak Bandhu fresh will not get PM Kisan along with it. PM Kisan farmers will instead get ₹3,000 a year extra from the state.
For Death Benefit
The farmer must have been registered and between 18 and 60 years old at the time of death. The claimant must be the legal heir.
Application Process
Verification for Existing Beneficiaries
STEP 1 - Collect the Krishak Bandhu verification form (Annexure-I) from your Block Agriculture Office.
STEP 2 - Fill in your KB ID, bank details, Aadhaar linked to the bank account, registered mobile number and land details. Add your husband's or wife's Aadhaar and mobile number if asked.
STEP 3 - Attach copies of your land records and submit the form at the Block Agriculture Officer's office. In late September 2026, the department gave 10 days from its notification for pending forms.
New Registration
STEP 1 - Go to krishakbandhu.wb.gov.in and use the sign-up option, or collect the form from your Block Agriculture Office.
STEP 2 - Fill in your personal details, Voter ID and Aadhaar numbers, land details and bank account, and attach the documents.
STEP 3 - Keep the acknowledgement number. Check your status later on krishakbandhu.wb.gov.in/farmer_search.
