Madhya Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board is running Khiladi Protsahan Yojana for registered construction workers and their family members who do well in sports. Under this scheme, a player picked for a district, divisional or state level game gets a cash incentive of ₹10,000 to ₹50,000 straight into the bank account.

Scheme has been running since 2014 under the Labour Department of Madhya Pradesh. Winners of sports events organised by the Board also get a separate incentive of ₹5,000 to ₹30,000, and the amount is payable again for each year a player is selected.

Khiladi Protsahan Yojana Details

Idea behind this scheme is simple. Families of construction workers often have good players, but money problems stop them from going ahead in sports. So the Welfare Board gives a cash incentive at every level of selection, from district games to state level games. The money comes as a DBT payment in the worker's bank account.

Two kinds of awards run side by side. Category A is for selection in a district, divisional or state level game. Category B is for winning a sports competition organised by the Board itself. A player can get both, in different years, as long as the registration card stays valid.

One correction worth noting for older readers. Some websites still write that the scheme started in 2017 and that state level selection gives ₹25,000. As per the Labour Department page, the scheme has been running since 2014 and state level selection now carries ₹50,000.

Apply Process for Khiladi Protsahan Yojana

Application is offline. Papers have to reach the right officer within 6 months of the selection or the win, so it is better not to sit on the certificate. Steps are given below.

STEP 1 - Get the certificate of your selection or win from a recognised sports body. This certificate has to be signed by the District Superintendent of Police or the District Sports Officer of your district.

STEP 2 - Collect the application form in the prescribed format from the Janpad Panchayat office in rural areas or the Nagar Palika office in urban areas. Fill in your name, registration card number, sport, level of the game and bank details carefully.

STEP 3 - Attach copies of your construction worker registration card, Aadhaar card, bank passbook first page, a passport size photo and the sports certificate with the form.

STEP 4 - Submit the full set to the sanctioning officer. In urban areas this is the Commissioner or the Chief Municipal Officer of the urban body. In rural areas it is the Chief Executive Officer of the Janpad Panchayat.

STEP 5 - Keep the receipt safe and follow up with the same office after a few weeks. Once the claim is approved, the amount is sent by DBT payment to the bank account linked with your registration.

STEP 6 - For Category B, that is a win in a competition held by the Board, no separate form chasing is needed in most cases. The Labour Department officer running the event hands over the incentive to the winner.

Benefit Amount Under the Scheme

Money depends on the level of the game and whether the player was selected or won a Board event. Current rates as per the Labour Department are given below.

Level of Game Category A - On Selection Category B - On Winning Board Event
District level ₹10,000 ₹5,000
Divisional level ₹25,000 ₹15,000
State level ₹50,000 ₹30,000

Who Can Apply

Rules are short and there is no income limit, which makes it easier for most worker families. Check the points below before filling the form.

  • Applicant should be a construction worker holding a valid identity card of the MP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, or a family member of such a worker.
  • Player must have been selected for a district, divisional or state level game, or must have won a sports event held by the Board.
  • A working bank account is required because the payment is sent through DBT only, no cash is given at the office.
  • Registration under the Board should be live on the date of the claim, so renew the card if it has lapsed.

Required Documents

Nothing unusual is asked here, but a missing sports certificate is the most common reason claims get stuck. Keep these ready.

  • Filled application form in the prescribed format of the Welfare Board.
  • Valid construction worker registration card issued by the Board.
  • Sports certificate signed by the District Superintendent of Police or the District Sports Officer through a recognised sports body.
  • Aadhaar card and any one more identity proof such as Voter ID.
  • Bank passbook copy for the DBT payment, a recent passport size photo and a working mobile number.

Current Status in 2026

Scheme is still running in 2026 and there is no notice of it being closed or merged. Registration under the Welfare Board stays open all year, and sports claims are accepted whenever a player is selected or wins, subject to the 6 month limit. No online portal has been started for this particular claim so far, so the offline route at the local body office remains the only way.

Workers looking at other Board benefits can also see Cycle Anudaan Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Shramik Seva Prasuti Sahayata Yojana, both meant for registered workers in Madhya Pradesh.
