Board records show this scheme has been in force since 2014, not a new 2026 announcement. Money problems and long walks to work sites were the main reason it was started, and the rules in 2026 are the same as before: a valid labour identity card, two years of continuous registration, and the purchase bill of the cycle.
Cycle Anudaan Yojana Madhya Pradesh Details
Cycle Anudaan Yojana is run by Labour Department of Madhya Pradesh through Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Workers who travel daily from their village or basti to a construction site spend a good part of their wage on buses and shared autos. A cycle removes that daily cost. So the Board pays most of the cycle price back to the worker after the purchase.
Payment comes as DBT into the worker bank account linked with the labour registration. Only one grant is given in a lifetime, and the cycle cannot be sold for three years after buying it. If a worker sells it earlier, the Board can ask for recovery of the grant amount.

How to Apply for Cycle Anudaan Yojana
Apply only after buying the cycle, because the bill has to go with the form. Keep the original bill safe, since the office checks it before approval. Application has to reach the office within three months of the purchase date.
STEP 1 - Buy a cycle from a shop that gives a proper printed bill in your own name, with shop details and date on it. Cash memo without name is usually rejected.
STEP 2 - Collect the prescribed application form of Saykal Anudan Yojana from the Janpad Panchayat office if you live in a rural area, or from the Nagar Nigam, Nagar Palika or Nagar Parishad office if you live in a town or city. Labour inspector office also keeps this form.
STEP 3 - Fill the form with your name, labour registration number, address, bank account number with IFSC code and the cycle purchase date. Write the amount exactly as printed on the bill.
STEP 4 - Attach a photocopy of your labour registration card, Aadhaar card, bank passbook first page and the original cycle bill with the form.
STEP 5 - Submit the file to the Chief Executive Officer at Janpad Panchayat for rural areas, or to the Commissioner or Chief Municipal Officer for urban areas, and take a receiving stamp on your copy.
STEP 6 - After the checking process is over and the officer approves the file, the approved amount reaches your bank account. Follow up at the same office with your receiving copy if the money does not come within a few weeks.
Who Can Apply
Rules for this scheme are short and easy to check before you spend money on a cycle. Read them once, because a rejected file after purchase is a waste of time and money.
- You must be a construction worker registered with MP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and hold a valid identity card of the Board.
- Your registration must be continuous for at least two years on the date of application, so lapsed cards need renewal first.
- You must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh and working in the construction line inside the state.
- Benefit is given once in a lifetime, so a worker who already got the cycle grant earlier cannot apply again.
- Cycle bought with this grant cannot be sold for three years from the date of purchase.

Some websites write ₹4,500, but that figure belongs to the school education cycle scheme for students, which is a different scheme. For construction workers the Board limit stays ₹4,000.
There is also no online apply link for this scheme yet. Registration and renewal of the labour card can be done online through the Board section of the Labour Department website or at a nearest CSC, but the cycle grant form itself is submitted offline at the local body office. Workers registered under Sambal can check their card status first before applying, as an inactive card is the most common reason for rejection.
