Internship Scheme for Students of Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Home Science Etc offers postgraduate students a chance to work in state-run children and shelter homes across Goa. Directorate of Women and Child Development, Government of Goa, runs this scheme and pays selected interns a monthly stipend of ₹15,000.

Scheme gives aspiring professionals hands-on training in social welfare, helping them move from classroom learning to real field work. Every year the Directorate invites applications from students of counselling, psychology, social work, home science and related subjects who have passed out from a recognised university.

You can apply if you hold a Master's degree in social service, social work, sociology, psychology, home science, or a postgraduate diploma in counselling. Degree should be completed within the last three years, and you need at least 50% marks in the final year of your postgraduate studies.

Internship runs for a maximum of 12 months. Total slots are fixed at 15, extendable up to 20 based on department needs.

Benefits

Selected interns get a monthly allowance of ₹15,000. For partial months of work, payment is calculated on a pro-rata basis. You also get 1 paid leave per month during the training period.

Eligibility

To apply for this internship, you should meet these conditions:

• Master's degree in social service, social work, sociology, psychology, home science, or a postgraduate diploma in counselling from a recognised university.
• Postgraduate degree completed within the last three years.
• At least 50% marks in aggregate in the final year of postgraduate studies.

Application Process

Applications for the 2026 round were invited from 25 June 2026 to 24 July 2026. Directorate invites applications every year, so eligible candidates should watch for the next notification. You can apply online through Goa Online portal or send the form by post.

STEP 1 - Register on the official Goa Online portal at goaonline.gov.in using your email id, mobile number, name, address and date of birth, and complete OTP verification.

STEP 2 - Login with your credentials and go to Services Menu, then All Services, then Directorate of Women and Child Development, and select Internship Scheme for students.

STEP 3 - Select the advertisement number, fill in the details as per the application form, and upload the required documents.

STEP 4 - Check the declaration clauses, submit the application, and note the acknowledgement number you receive by email and SMS for tracking.

For offline application, download and print the official application form, fill it in, paste a recent passport-sized photograph, sign across it, and send the completed package by post to Director, Directorate of Women and Child Development, Old Education Building, 2nd Floor, 18th June Road, Altinho, Panaji, Goa - 403001.
