Madhya Pradesh government is running Encouragement Scheme for Taking Admission in Science and Contemporary Subjects for Scheduled Tribe students who move into Science after Class 10 or Class 12. Students joining Class 11 Science get ₹2,000 and students joining a BSc course in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology get ₹3,000 as a one-time cash incentive.
Tribal Affairs Department of Madhya Pradesh runs this scholarship, and the whole process happens online on MPTAAS portal. Applications, checking and payment are all handled through the same portal, so a beneficiary profile is required before applying. As on 4 August 2026, scheme rules and both amounts stay the same as earlier years, and no closure notice has come from the department.
Encouragement Scheme for Taking Admission in Science and Contemporary Subjects 2026
Money problems stop many ST students from picking Science after board exams. Lab fees, books, travel to a bigger school or college, all of it adds up. This scholarship gives a small cash push at the exact moment when that choice is being made, right at admission time.
Payment goes straight into the student bank account linked with the profile. Nothing has to be paid to apply. Students can also use other MP scholarship schemes, but only one benefit of the same type is allowed at a time, so check the rules on the portal before applying for two similar schemes.
How to Apply Online for This Scholarship
Application is fully online through MPTAAS. First the profile registration, then the scheme application. Keep scanned documents ready before starting, because uploads are part of the same form.
STEP 1 - Go to the Tribal Welfare Department website at tribal.mp.gov.in and click on the MPTAASC link shown on the homepage.
STEP 2 - Under the login section, click on New Beneficiary Profile Registration and fill every field marked with a star, then upload the required documents.
STEP 3 - Check the details once more and submit. User ID and password come on the registered email and mobile number, so save them safely.
STEP 4 - Log in again on the MPTAAS portal using that user ID, password and captcha.
STEP 5 - On the dashboard open the PMS section and select Apply for Scheme, then pick this scholarship from the list.
STEP 6 - Fill the form, attach documents, submit it and take a printout for your own record. Status updates keep coming on the registered email and SMS.
