Uttar Pradesh government's free laptop scheme, now known as Swami Vivekanand Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana (Digi Shakti), is back for students in 2026. The scheme was paused in 2025 and restarted after an official notice issued on 31 December 2025.

In the latest version, the state government has stopped laptop distribution and is now providing free tablets and smartphones to eligible students. Students who passed 10th or 12th from the UP Board and are enrolled in undergraduate, diploma, ITI or technical courses can apply for the scheme.

UP Free Laptop Yojana 2026 Apply

UP Free Laptop Yojana is the popular name of the Swami Vivekanand Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana, which the Uttar Pradesh government runs through the Digi Shakti portal. The scheme helps meritorious students get digital access for their education. Earlier laptops were given under this scheme, but now only tablets and smartphones are being distributed.

The official notice dated 31 December 2025 from Prayagraj confirmed that the scheme is active again. District level nodal officers are being appointed first, and student registration and e-KYC will open on the Digi Shakti portal soon. Students who were left out in earlier years and those passing out in 2026 are expected to get the benefit.

Registration and Application Process

Students must register on the Digi Shakti official portal and complete e-KYC based on Aadhaar. The tablet or smartphone will not be delivered automatically, so every eligible student has to apply online.

STEP 1 - Go to the official Digi Shakti portal at digishakti.up.gov.in and open the registration section for the scheme.

STEP 2 - Enter your details like name, Aadhaar number, board details and course information in the registration form.

STEP 3 - Complete the e-KYC process using your Aadhaar number and verify your board, course and institution details.

STEP 4 - Submit the application and keep the application ID safe for checking the status and beneficiary list later.

Eligibility

Students must meet the following conditions to get a free tablet or smartphone under the scheme.

  • Must be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh state.
  • Must have passed 10th or 12th from the UP Board.
  • Must be enrolled in undergraduate, diploma, ITI or technical courses in the state.
  • Passing with first division or good marks increases the chance of selection.
  • Must not have received a tablet or smartphone under the scheme earlier.

Documents Required

Keep the following documents ready before applying for the scheme.

  • 10th and 12th class mark sheets.
  • College ID card.
  • Aadhaar card.
  • UP domicile certificate.
  • Passport size photograph.

Sir mere father bhi nhi or meri aarthik istithi bhi achchi nhi hai or mere pass itne paise bhi nhi hai ki main new leptop kharid sako aap ki bahut maherbani hogi mene b.com kar liya hai or agaiy ki padai nhi karpaya ho or koi rozgaar bhi nhi h dhanyewaad

Due to some financial issues I have completed my Class 12th from NIOS BOARD. This is very painful that NIOS BOARD has not been included in this CM YOGI'S laptop/mobile/tablets YOJANA. I've scored 88% in Class 10th from a reputed CBSE school but couldn't afford the expenses of Class 12th. I wish to be part of this but I don't know how..
