Assam government's Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Moina Aasoni is accepting applications for the 2026-27 academic session. Girl students in Class 11, Class 12, graduation and post-graduation first year can apply through their colleges and institutions.
Application forms for the scheme are being distributed through government and venture educational institutions across the state. Class 11 and Class 12 students have to submit their applications online through the DARPAN portal, and the window is open from 14 August 2026 to 5 September 2026.
Nijut Moina Colleges List and Eligible Institutions
Nijut Moina colleges list includes government and venture educational institutions where girl students can get the application form for the scheme. Private educational institutions and self-financed courses are not covered under the scheme.

For the 2026-27 session, application form distribution started on 6 August 2026. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the form distribution process, and colleges and universities across Assam have been asked to give forms to eligible girl students. How to Apply for Nijut Moina 2026-27
Class 11 and Class 12 students have to apply online through the DARPAN portal at darpan.ahseconline.in. The steps are given below.
STEP 1 - Open the DARPAN portal and click on "Apply Nijut Moina". Class 11 students can log in with their mobile number, date of birth and 6-digit PIN. Class 12 students can log in with their registration number, date of birth and the default password 123456.
STEP 2 - After login, select "Apply Nijut Moina Aasoni Scheme" and carefully fill in all the required details in the application form.
STEP 3 - Complete the Aadhaar authentication during the application process and make sure the Aadhaar details entered are correct.
STEP 4 - Enter the details of your own bank account. The account should be seeded with your Aadhaar number, and the account number, IFSC code and account holder's name should be entered carefully.
STEP 5 - Upload a clear scanned copy of the bank passbook first page or a cancelled cheque where the account holder's name, account number and IFSC code are visible.
STEP 6 - Review all the information and submit the application. After successful submission, an acknowledgement receipt will be generated. Download it and keep it safely.
STEP 7 - Log in to the DARPAN portal regularly to check the application status. If the application is returned for correction, make the required changes and resubmit it within the timeline.
Graduation, post-graduation and B.Ed first year students have to collect the prescribed application form from their college or university department, fill it up and submit it to the institution. The head of the institution verifies the forms and forwards the data to the portal for approval. Students can also check the official SOP for Nijut Moina online application for the complete process.
Nijut Moina Benefits 2026-27
Eligible girl students get monthly financial support for up to ten months in a year. The amount depends on the class the student is enrolled in.
- Class 11 and Class 12 students get ₹1,000 per month, which comes to ₹10,000 in a year.
- Graduation first year students (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com) get ₹1,250 per month, which comes to ₹12,500 in a year.
- Post-graduation first year students (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, B.Ed) get ₹2,500 per month, which comes to ₹25,000 in a year.
The money is credited directly to the student's Aadhaar-linked bank account through DBT. No payment is made during June and July every year. For the 2026-27 session, payments are expected to start from 10 October 2026. Eligibility for Nijut Moina
Girl students who are permanent residents of Assam and enrolled in the first year of higher secondary, graduation or post-graduation in a government or venture institution can apply. The scheme is open to families of all economic statuses.
Married girls are eligible only in the post-graduation and B.Ed category. Girls admitted to B.Ed on deputation while in service are not eligible, and daughters of ministers, MPs and MLAs are also not covered under the scheme. Girl students who receive a scooter under the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme are not eligible unless they opt out of the scooter.
Documents Required
Students need a duly filled application form, marksheets and pass certificates of the previous class, a passport-size photo, bank account details, Aadhaar card and a mobile number. The bank account must be linked with Aadhaar to receive the DBT payment.
