Khelo India Youth Games is a national youth sports event run under the Khelo India scheme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The Union Cabinet approved a revamped Khelo India Scheme on 31 July 2026 with a combined outlay of ₹36,441 crore for the period 2026-27 to 2030-31. Khelo India Youth Games 2026

Telangana is the host state for the 8th edition of the Khelo India Youth Games, scheduled for November 2026. This is the second southern Indian state to host the games in three years, after Tamil Nadu hosted the 2024 edition. Bihar hosted the most recent edition in May 2025. Around 8,000 athletes, officials and support staff are expected to take part.

The Khelo India Youth Games keeps growing with every edition. The 2025 Bihar edition featured 28 sports, with e-sports added as a demonstration event. Maharashtra, Haryana and Rajasthan took the top three spots in the 2025 medal table.
