New LPG gas cylinder prices for June 2026 are now in effect across India. Oil marketing companies led by the central government's agency Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) hiked the price of 14.2 Kg domestic cylinders by ₹29 from 7 June 2026. A domestic cylinder now costs ₹942 in Delhi. This is the second hike in around three months, after a ₹60 increase on 7 March 2026.
Along with the price hike, the government has also cut the number of subsidised refills under PM Ujjwala Yojana from 9 to just 4 per year. Ujjwala beneficiaries will keep getting the ₹300 per cylinder subsidy via DBT, but only on the first 4 refills every year. Domestic LPG cylinder prices are revised by oil marketing companies (OMCs) from time to time based on international fuel prices. Due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, global LPG supply is under pressure, which is why both domestic and commercial cylinder rates have gone up multiple times since March 2026.

19 Kg Commercial LPG Cylinder Rates June 2026
Commercial cylinder rates, which are used by hotels, restaurants and other businesses, were also increased by ₹42 to ₹53.50 per cylinder from 1 June 2026. After this revision, a 19 Kg commercial LPG cylinder costs around ₹3,113.50 in Delhi and ₹3,067.50 in Mumbai. Commercial rates have been revised five times since March 2026 due to rising global fuel costs.
Ujjwala Subsidy Now Only on 4 Refills Per Year
In a big change announced in June 2026, the central government reduced the number of subsidised cooking gas refills under PM Ujjwala Yojana from 9 to 4 per year. The subsidy amount of ₹300 per cylinder remains the same, but the maximum annual subsidy a household can get now comes down from ₹2,700 to ₹1,200. When PMUY was launched in 2016, beneficiaries were promised 12 subsidised cylinders a year, which was reduced to 9 in 2025 and now to 4.
Why LPG Prices Have Increased
According to the government, the actual cost of supplying a domestic LPG cylinder has crossed ₹1,600 due to a sharp rise in international LPG prices. The Saudi Contract Price (CP), the global benchmark for LPG pricing, has gone up by about 46% since February 2026 because of the conflict in West Asia. Even after the latest hike, oil marketing companies were losing around ₹703 on every domestic cylinder sold, which is why prices have been revised upward.
New LPG Booking Rules
To manage supply during the global shortage, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has also changed the refill booking rules. Urban households now have a 25-day waiting period between two refills, while rural households have a 45-day gap. OTP verification at the doorstep is now required for every gas cylinder delivery.
