Griha Aadhar Scheme aims to address the problem of rising prices and to provide support to housewives and homemakers from middle, lower middle and poor sections of society. The scheme helps them maintain a reasonable standard of living for their families.
Griha Aadhar Scheme 2026
Under this scheme, an amount of ₹2,500 is provided every month directly into the savings bank account of the eligible housewife or homemaker. Earlier the amount was ₹1,500 per month, which has been increased to ₹2,500 under the latest phase of the scheme.
In March 2026, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant announced that assistance under the Griha Aadhar and Dayanand Social Security Schemes will be credited by the 10th of every month without any delays. On this occasion, ₹45.26 crores was credited to over 2.24 lakh beneficiaries across Goa.

Eligibility Criteria
Any married woman above the age of 18 years who fulfills the following conditions can apply for the scheme:
- She should be a resident of Goa for the last fifteen years.
- The gross income of the husband and wife taken together should not exceed ₹3,00,000 per annum.
- The beneficiary or her husband should not be receiving benefit under the Dayanand Social Security Scheme. A widow having a child living can apply even if she is a DSSS beneficiary, till the child attains 18 years of age.
The term married woman includes a widow and a divorcee. In such cases, the gross income of the beneficiary should not exceed ₹3,00,000 per annum.
Documents Required
The following documents are required while applying for the scheme:
- Self attested copy of marriage certificate issued by the competent authority.
- Self attested copy of 15 years residence certificate issued by the Taluka Mamlatdar.
- Proof of present residential address such as Election Photo Identity Card or Aadhaar card.
- Attested copy of Aadhaar card.
- Income certificate issued by the Secretary, Village Panchayat or Chief Officer, Municipal Council.
- Attested copy of savings bank account pass book with IFSC and MICR details, preferably Aadhaar linked for DBT payment.
How to Apply Online
Eligible women can apply for the scheme online through the Goa Online portal. The steps are given below.
STEP 1 - Go to the official website at goaonline.gov.in and register by providing email id, mobile number, name, address and date of birth along with OTP authentication.
STEP 2 - After successful registration, login using the credentials and click on Services Menu, then All Services, then Directorate of Women and Child Development, then Griha Aadhar Scheme.
STEP 3 - Answer the eligibility criteria questionnaire to proceed to the application form.
STEP 4 - Fill up the application form details and upload the required documents.
STEP 5 - Click on Save and proceed to pay. On successful payment, the application is submitted to the department for processing.
STEP 6 - An acknowledgement SMS and email will be sent on submission of the form. Note the acknowledgement number for application tracking.
Life Certificate and Income Certificate
Beneficiaries must submit a life certificate and income certificate from April 1st to May 30th of every year to get regular benefits of the scheme. The life certificate must be signed by any Gazetted Officer, MLA or MP. If the beneficiary fails to file these certificates, the monthly financial assistance is stopped.
