Madhya Pradesh government is running Mukhyamantri Madad Yojana for Scheduled Tribe families living in rural areas of 20 tribal districts. On the birth of a child the family gets 50 kg wheat or rice with cooking utensils, and on the death of a family member the family gets 1 quintal of foodgrain, all free.

Tribal Affairs Department started this scheme on 2 October 2019 and it is still running in 2026. Each village also has a fund of ₹25,000 kept with the Gram Panchayat Secretary only for buying the utensil sets given to families.

Mukhyamantri Madad Yojana 2026 Details

Idea behind this scheme is simple. Birth and death both bring sudden expenses in a poor household, and ration is the first thing that runs short. So instead of cash, the state gives grain and basic kitchen items straight through the Gram Panchayat and the fair price shop.

Take a family in Dindori district. A child is born, the birth is entered on the Samagra SPR Portal by the Panchayat Secretary, and the family walks to the linked fair price shop with a help receipt. Grain comes home the same week. No form fee, no middleman.

Whether a family gets rice or wheat depends on the district. Districts where rice is the regular food get rice, the rest get wheat. Benefit is in kind, not a DBT payment, so no bank transfer is involved here.

Apply Process for Mukhyamantri Madad Yojana

There is no online application form for families. Everything moves through the Gram Panchayat Secretary, and the whole process finishes in a few days if the birth or death record is entered on time.

STEP 1 - Meet the Gram Panchayat Secretary of your village and tell him about the birth or the death in the family, and that you want help under Mukhyamantri Madad Yojana.

STEP 2 - Get the birth or death registered on the Samagra SPR Portal through the Panchayat office. Carry the Samagra ID and caste certificate at this stage.

STEP 3 - At the time of this entry the Secretary marks the family as eligible and hands over a help receipt, which works like a voucher for the grain.

STEP 4 - Take that receipt to the fair price shop linked with your Gram Panchayat and collect the wheat or rice. Utensils are given at the Panchayat level from the ₹25,000 village fund.

Step wise screens and formats are given in the department manual, which you can read here: Mukhyamantri Madad Yojana user manual (PDF).
