Integrated Hostel Scheme Madhya Pradesh 2026: Free Hostel, Meals, Eligibility and Apply Online

Madhya Pradesh runs Integrated Hostel Scheme for SC, ST and OBC students who need a free place to stay while they study. Students from class 1 to class 12 and college level get free accommodation, meals, bedding, electricity, water and study support in government hostels across the state.

Fresh update for 2026-27: Tribal Affairs Department has revised the monthly stipend paid to Scheduled Tribe students staying in hostels and ashrams. Boys now get ₹1,720 per month and girls get ₹1,770 per month, and the new rates apply from 1 July 2026. Rates were revised on the basis of the March consumer price index.

Integrated Hostel Scheme Madhya Pradesh

Scheme is run by Tribal Welfare and Scheduled Caste (SC) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Main idea is simple. Many poor families live far from a good school or college, and sending a child to study means paying rent and food costs they cannot manage. Hostels under this scheme remove that cost fully.

Students staying in these hostels get a bed, furniture, water, electricity, library use and coaching support along with daily meals. For ST students living in departmental hostels and ashrams, the monthly stipend is credited through DBT payment into the student bank account linked with Aadhaar.

Apply Online Through MPTAAS Portal

Application for departmental hostels of Tribal Welfare and SC Department is done through MPTAAS. First you make a beneficiary profile, then apply for the hostel with that profile number. Steps are given below.

STEP 1 - Open the MPTAAS portal and click on 'New Beneficiary Profile Registration' on the home page.

STEP 2 - Fill your name, Samagra ID, Aadhaar number, caste details, family details and address in all the boxes marked with a star sign. Keep the spelling same as your Samagra and Aadhaar record, otherwise the profile gets rejected in checking.

STEP 3 - Upload your caste certificate, domicile certificate, last marksheet and photograph in the size the portal asks for, then submit the form and note down the registration number that appears on the screen.

STEP 4 - Log in again at the MPTAAS login page using that number, open the scheme list, select Integrated Hostel Scheme and choose the hostel of your district.

STEP 5 - Submit the application and take a printout. Hostel superintendent checks your papers and the seat is given as per merit and seat availability, so keep checking your login for the status.

Hostels Under State Education Centre Are Now Fully Online

Apart from the departmental hostels, School Education Department runs 597 hostels through Rajya Shiksha Kendra, which include 207 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, 324 Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose girls hostels and 66 Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose boys hostels. From the 2026 session, admission to these hostels is done only online through an e-Hostel management system built on Education Portal 3.0.

For that system, first round applications closed on 30 March 2026 and the second round for vacant seats ran from 6 April 2026 to 10 June 2026. Applications are filed at educationportal3.in or through an MP Online kiosk, and the hostel warden also helps students who face trouble in filling the form. In Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, 75 percent seats are kept for SC, ST, OBC and minority girls and the rest 25 percent for girls of BPL families, with priority to disabled, orphan and helpless girls.

Who Can Apply

Rules are kept simple so that poor families do not get stuck in paperwork. Check these points before you fill the form.

• You should be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh and have a Samagra ID in your family record.
• You should belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Class category and have a valid caste certificate.
• You should be studying in a government school or college in Madhya Pradesh, in any class from 1 to 12 or in a college course.
• Students from remote rural villages get first preference, because they travel the longest distance for study.
• Distance rule is normally 3 km for girls and 8 km for boys between the home and the institution.
• There is no income limit for hostel admission under this scheme.

Keep scanned copies ready before you start, because the portal asks for uploads in one go and a missing paper sends the file back.

Offline Application

Students who cannot use the portal can still apply by hand at the district office.

STEP 1 - Visit the office of the Assistant Commissioner or District Coordinator of Tribal Welfare Department in your district during office hours and ask for the hostel application form.

STEP 2 - Fill the form, attach self attested copies of your documents with one photograph, submit it at the counter and collect the receipt with date and reference number for tracking later.

For any problem in the application or in stipend payment, students can call CM Helpline 181, which handles complaints of all state departments in Madhya Pradesh. You can also meet the hostel superintendent or the district Tribal Welfare office, since seat allotment records are kept there.

Students staying in hostels can also apply for other study support of the same department, like Post Matric Scholarship for class 11th, 12th and college and Post Matric Scholarship for OBC students, as hostel seat and scholarship are separate benefits.
