Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) runs Cyber Surakshit Bharat Programme to train government officers in cyber security, and registration for the CISO Deep Dive Training continues through 2026 on an updated NeGD portal. More than 45 batches have already trained over 1,662 Chief Information Security Officers and IT officials from central and state departments since the scheme started.

National e-Governance Division (NeGD), which runs this scheme along with private industry partners, now accepts online nominations at tmis2.negd.in after moving away from the older tmis.negd.in link. Officers working as CISOs, CTOs or in technical security teams of government departments, PSUs, banks and police forces can apply for this training at no cost.

Cyber Surakshit Bharat Registration and Nomination Process 2026

NeGD shifted the CISO training nomination system to a new portal in 2026. Officers now need to register at tmis2.negd.in instead of the older tmis.negd.in link, which no longer takes new nominations. Only online nominations are accepted, and confirmation of participation goes only to the registered email ID.

STEP 1 - Visit tmis2.negd.in and create a login using an official government email ID. Personal email accounts are not accepted for this training.

STEP 2 - Complete the profile section with designation, department and current job role related to IT or cyber security work.

STEP 3 - Find the relevant training batch from the schedule shown on the portal and click the register or apply link against it.

STEP 4 - Submit the nomination form and wait for a confirmation mail, since batch size is limited and only short listed applications get a seat.

Officers who already attended an earlier CISO Deep Dive batch are not nominated again, so departments should put forward officers who have not done this training before.

Cut Off Date for Confirmation of Nominations

Confirmation for a batch usually goes out about one week before the training start date. For example, if a batch starts on 10 December 2026, officers can expect confirmation by around 3 December 2026. Anyone who does not get a confirmation mail can apply again for the next available batch.

What is Cyber Surakshit Bharat Programme

Digital India is a major scheme for the country, and cyber safety has become a top priority as online attacks keep rising. MeitY launched Cyber Surakshit Bharat scheme along with Central government body NeGD and private industry partners to build a stronger cyber security system across government departments. Scheme mainly runs through a CISO Deep Dive Training programme meant for officers who handle IT security in their organizations. MeitY also runs other Digital India programmes such as Digital India Internship Scheme for students who want hands-on exposure to government digital projects.

Target Audience for CISO Training

Training is meant for officers handling IT security in central and state government departments, subordinate agencies, public sector banks, insurance companies and technical wings of police and security forces. This mainly includes:

  • Designated Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) working in government departments and PSUs.
  • CTOs and members of technical or PMU teams who look after IT system security in their organizations.

Batch Size

Each batch under Cyber Surakshit Bharat Programme takes a maximum of 50 participants. This keeps the training focused and lets trainers give proper attention to real world case studies and hands-on exercises.

Training Objective

Objective of this programme is to help Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) and the broader IT community handle cyber security problems better. Training covers new cyber threats, current government frameworks and guidelines, real examples of security failures and successes, and inputs that help officers take informed decisions on security issues in their department.

Course Overview

Full training runs for 5 to 6 days and is conducted online or at a physical venue such as Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad, depending on the batch. Experts from government bodies and industry partners cover technical topics from a practical, hands-on angle rather than just theory. Main areas covered include:

  • Darknet, dark web activity and common attack techniques such as DDoS attacks and Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs).
  • Data classification, cryptography, digital signatures, e-Sign architecture and secure network design.
  • Business continuity planning, IT Act provisions, authentication protocols and log management.
  • Cyber forensics, cloud security, incident handling and emerging technology risks.
