PM Kisan Portal pmkisan.gov.in: PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana or PM Kisan Yojana is a flagship scheme of central government launched by PM Narendra Modi. Under this scheme Rs. 6000 per year are being given to the eligible farmers in the country in three equal installments of Rs. 2000 each. So far 23 installments have been released by the central government under this scheme. The last one came on 20 June 2026, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi released ₹18,880 crore to more than 9.44 crore farmers from Tarakeswar in Hooghly district of West Bengal.
Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, for every installment of ₹2,000, amount is directly deposited into their bank accounts, helping reduce financial stress, boost agricultural output, and improve rural livelihoods.
The central government has launched PM Kisan Portal pmkisan.gov.in for managing the scheme. On this portal farmers can register, check eligibility, complete e-KYC, and track application and payments status online. To get the full benefit, farmers must have their Aadhaar, ration card, land documents, and link their bank account. All services are online, making the process transparent, fast, and hassle free.

PM Kisan Latest Update
23rd installment of PM Kisan was released on 20 June 2026 from Tarakeswar in Hooghly district of West Bengal. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent over ₹18,880 crore straight into the bank accounts of more than 9.44 crore farmers. Out of these, 2.18 crore were women farmers. Over 1 crore farmers joined the event online. The day was marked as PM Kisan Utsav Diwas.
With this payment, the total money sent under PM Kisan since 2019 has crossed ₹4.46 lakh crore. Union Budget 2026-27 has kept ₹60,000 crore for the scheme, so payments will keep coming as usual.
Farmers are now waiting for the 24th installment. Money comes every four months and the 24th one falls in the August to November 2026 cycle. Going by the earlier pattern, it is likely around October 2026. But Agriculture Ministry has not announced any date yet. So do not believe dates going around on WhatsApp or social media. The real date first appears on pmkisan.gov.in and in official press releases, usually one or two weeks before the payment.
Before the 24th installment reaches you, finish your e-KYC, check that your Aadhaar is seeded with your bank account in the NPCI mapper, and see that your land record check is marked done on the portal. If even one of these shows "No" on your status page, the ₹2,000 will not come.

Farmer ID Required for New Registration
Agriculture Ministry has made Farmer ID, also called Kisan Pehchaan Patra, a must for new PM Kisan registration in 14 states. These are Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. If you stay in any of these states and want to register as a new farmer, get the Farmer ID made first. In states where farmer registry work has not started, you can still register without it.
Farmer ID is a unique digital number tied to your Aadhaar and your state land records. It comes under AgriStack, part of the Digital Agriculture Mission. Once made, the same ID works for PM Kisan, crop insurance, Kisan Credit Card and fertiliser subsidy, so you do not have to give the same papers again and again. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in April 2026 that 9.25 crore Farmer IDs had been made across 19 states, and the target is 11 crore by 2026-27.
To get one, go to your state farmer registry portal, or visit the nearest CSC or block agriculture office with your Aadhaar, land papers like khasra or khatauni, and your bank passbook. Registration takes around 15 to 20 minutes and the ID normally comes in 7 to 15 working days. Uttar Pradesh and some other states are also running free camps at gram panchayat level for this.
e-KYC Process on pmkisan.gov.in
- Go to pmkisan.gov.in and click "e-KYC" under "FARMERS CORNER".
- Enter your Aadhaar number and click search.
- Enter the OTP received on the mobile number which is linked to your Aadhar number.
- Submit to complete your e-KYC online.

Face Authentication e-KYC and Kisan e-Mitra Chatbot
Many farmers do not have a mobile number linked with Aadhaar, so the OTP never comes. For them the portal now allows face authentication e-KYC. Download the PMKISAN GoI app and the Aadhaar Face RD app from Play Store, log in with your registered mobile number, open the e-KYC option, enter your Aadhaar number, give consent and scan your face. Once the face matches, e-KYC is done. Biometric e-KYC at a CSC is the third way.
Agriculture Ministry has also put an AI-based chatbot called Kisan e-Mitra on the portal. It works 24 hours a day in 11 Indian languages and answers questions about application status, payment details and common problems. India Post Payments Bank does Aadhaar-linked doorstep banking too, which helps if your bank branch is far from the village.

To provide guaranteed, direct financial aid to small and marginal farmers all over India, strengthening rural incomes and agriculture.
How much is given in each PM Kisan installment?
Each eligible farmer receives ₹2,000 per installment, for a total of ₹6,000 per year.
Who launched the scheme and when?
The scheme was launched by the Government of India on 24th February 2019.
How to apply for PM Kisan Yojana?
Farmers can register online on pmkisan.gov.in by providing Aadhaar, land, and bank details.
Is e-KYC required for getting payment?
Yes, e-KYC is compulsory. Without it, the next installment will not be credited.
When will 24th installment of PM Kisan come?
No date has been announced so far. The 23rd installment was sent on 20 June 2026 and money comes every four months, so the 24th is likely around October 2026. Wait for the notice on pmkisan.gov.in instead of trusting forwarded messages.
Why did the last installment not reach my account?
Usually one of three reasons. Either e-KYC is pending, or your Aadhaar is not seeded with your bank account in the NPCI mapper, or the land record check is still not done. Open Know Your Status on the portal and see which one shows "No", then get that fixed. Payment also stops if the name on your Aadhaar and bank passbook do not match.
Is Farmer ID needed to get PM Kisan money?
For new registration, yes, in 14 states where farmer registry work has started. Old farmers already getting payment do not need it right now. Still, many states are asking everyone to make it, so getting one made is a safer choice.
Can urban farmers register under PM Kisan?
Yes, both rural and urban farmers with eligible land can apply.
