Haryana government has launched Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana on 16 March 2023. दीनदयाल उपाध्याय अंत्योदय परिवार सुरक्षा योजना (DDUAPSY) was firstly announced in Haryana Budget Speech 2023-24. It aims to provide financial aid in case of death or permanent disability of a member of a family having an annual income less than Rs 1.80 lakh. About Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana

The new scheme named Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana aims to provide financial assistance in case of death – natural or accidental or permanent disability – of a member of a family having an annual income less than Rs 1.80 lakh as verified in the Parivar Pehchan Patra or Family Information Data Repository (FIDR) database.

The financial assistance would vary depending on the age of the beneficiary. Also, the scheme will also include an amount of Rs 2 lakh under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). Haryana Parivar Suraksha Nyas (HPSN) will be the implementing agency for Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana.

Deen Dayal Upadhyay Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana in Haryana Budget 2023-24

Finance minister presented Haryana Budget Speech 2023-24 on 23 February 2023 in which he said “I propose to introduce a new scheme, the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana for providing assistance in case of death or disability in respect of a member of a family having annual income of upto ₹1.80 lakh based on data verified in PPP”.

He mentioned “Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana scheme will provide an assistance which would vary depending on the age of the person at the time of death or permanent disability. The proposed assistance shall be ₹1 lakh upto the age of 6 years, ₹2 lakh above the age of 6 years upto the age of 18 years, ₹3 lakh for age above 18 years upto 25 years, ₹5 lakh for age over 25 years upto 40 years and ₹2 lakh for the age of above 40 years upto the age of 60 years. The benefit amount shall include the amount of ₹2 lakh under PMJJBY which is available in the age bracket of 18-40 years only”.

Claim Procedure for Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana

Giving details about the claims procedure, CM said the claim shall be filed by the beneficiary or claimant through the online portal of Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana scheme within 3 months of accidental death or natural death or permanent disability. Further, in case of death, the assistance amount shall be paid to the head of the family in their bank account registered in the PPP database.

Assistance Amount in दीनदयाल उपाध्याय अंत्योदय परिवार सुरक्षा योजना

Under Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivar Suraksha Yojana, the state govt. will provide assistance on the basis of age of person at time of death or permanent disability. Assistance amount in Deen Dayal Upadhyay Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana is as follows:-

  • Upto 6 years – Rs. 1 lakh
  • 6 to 18 years – Rs. 2 lakh
  • 18 to 25 years – Rs. 3 lakh
  • 25 to 40 years – Rs. 5 lakh 
  • 40 to 60 years – Rs. 2 lakh 

The benefit amount shall include the amount of Rs. 2 lakh under PMJJBY which is available in the age bracket of 18 to 40 years only.
