Madhya Pradesh government is running Post Matric Scholarship for SC students in the 2026-27 session, and applications are taken online on the State Scholarship Portal 2.0. Students of Scheduled Caste category studying after Class 10, from Class 11 up to postgraduate and professional courses, get their fees reimbursed plus a monthly living allowance of ₹300 to ₹570.

One important change to note. Old portal address scholarshipportal.mp.nic.in no longer works. All registration, login and application work now happens on hescholarship.mp.gov.in, the same NIC-built State Scholarship Portal 2.0. If any old bookmark or printout still shows the .nic.in link, ignore it.

Post Matric Scholarship for SC Students Madhya Pradesh

This state scheme helps SC students who finished matriculation and want to study further. Money problems stop many families at this stage. Fee reimbursement and the monthly allowance together reduce that load, so a student can stay in college instead of dropping out.

Payment comes as DBT payment straight to the student's Aadhaar-linked bank account. Only one scholarship scheme benefit is allowed at a time, so a student already getting some other post matric scholarship cannot claim this one along with it. Scheduled Caste Development Department is the main department, and NIC Bhopal handles the portal side.

How to Apply Online

Whole process is online. Keep your Samagra ID, Aadhaar number and bank passbook near you before starting, because the portal asks for them one after another. New students register first, old students only log in and renew.

STEP 1 - Open the State Scholarship Portal 2.0 at hescholarship.mp.gov.in and look for the register option on the homepage. Read the short registration instructions shown there and press continue.

STEP 2 - Fill your basic details, that is your scholar category, state, full name as printed on the marksheet, date of birth and mobile number. Submit it and the portal gives you a Student Application ID. Note that ID down somewhere safe.

STEP 3 - Go to student login and sign in with that ID and your password. Pick Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC Students from the scheme list.

STEP 4 - Enter father's name, Samagra ID, Aadhaar number, caste certificate details, course and institute code, and your bank account with IFSC. Institute code can be checked from the institute and course list on the portal.

STEP 5 - Upload photo, signature and the required documents, check every star marked field once again, then submit. After that go to your college scholarship section and get the application verified, since the college has to forward it digitally.

Once the department approves it, money reaches your bank account directly. Renewal every year is only opened for students whose application was sanctioned in the previous session.

Who Can Apply

Rules are simple but the income proof part is where most applications get rejected, so read this carefully before filling the form.

  • Student must belong to Scheduled Caste category and must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh, with a valid caste certificate issued in the state.
  • For students studying in non-government institutions, yearly income of parents or guardian should be up to ₹6,00,000, and the income certificate should be a current one.
  • For students in government institutions there is no income limit at all, so even above that figure the application stands valid.
  • Student should be studying in a course and institute listed on the portal, otherwise the college has to get itself added through its line department first.

Scholarship Amount and Benefits

Benefit has two parts, fee side and living cost side. Fee part depends on the type of college and family income, and the living allowance depends on whether the student stays in a hostel.

Full fee reimbursement is given for professional courses where fees are fixed by Admission and Fee Regulatory Commission, and also for all courses run in government institutions. In non-government colleges, families with yearly income up to ₹2,50,000 get half of the required fees, and for income between ₹2,50,000 and ₹6,00,000 partial reimbursement rules of the department apply.

Monthly living allowance for undergraduate and postgraduate students is ₹300 for day scholars and ₹570 for students living in hostels. Hostel students should keep the hostel proof ready because that decides the higher rate.

Documents Required

Documents are uploaded during the online form itself, so scan them beforehand in clear quality and small file size.

  • Aadhaar card of the student, linked with the bank account and mobile number used in the form.
  • Caste certificate and Samagra ID issued by Madhya Pradesh government.
  • Income certificate of parents, needed mainly for students of non-government institutions.
  • Bank passbook first page, last year's marksheet, fee receipt and a recent passport size photo with signature.

Help and Contact

For any problem in the SC post matric application, the department has given a direct contact. Phone number is 0755-2661914 and the email is cscd.bhopal@mp.gov.in. Mails sent to any other address are not entertained. For correction in a submitted application, students have to contact the SC district officer of the district where their college is located, and that office usually sits inside the collectorate.

Students of other categories can check the related state schemes as well, like Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Sudama Shishyavritti Yojana and Gaon Ki Beti Yojana for girl students from villages.
