The ₹5,00,000 grant does not have to be repaid. The ₹5,00,000 loan is interest-free and is repaid in 84 equal monthly installments, with repayment starting only after the business begins operating. No processing fee is charged on this loan, which makes it easier for first-generation entrepreneurs from the SC/ST community to start without depending on private lenders.
In addition, the government provides mandatory training sessions to sharpen business and management skills before the unit starts. Note that while the loan is interest-free for SC/ST and most eligible categories, a nominal 1% interest rate may apply under specific sub-schemes.
Eligibility
To qualify for Mukhyamantri Anusuchit Jati / Anusuchit Janjati Udyami Yojana, applicants should meet the following conditions:
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar and belong to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category.

STEP 1 - Go to the official website at udyami.bihar.gov.in. This is the only working portal for the scheme now, and the older startup.bihar.gov.in link is no longer in use.
STEP 2 - Click on the registration option and enter your mobile number and Aadhaar number. An OTP will come on the registered mobile number for verification.
STEP 3 - After OTP verification, log in and select Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana from the scheme list, then choose SC/ST as the applicable category.
STEP 4 - Fill in personal details, business or project details, bank account information and educational qualification, then upload the required documents in the given format.
STEP 5 - Check all entered details carefully and submit the form. Note down the application number for future reference and status tracking.
