Bihar Rajya Fasal Sahayata Yojana gives money support to farmers of Bihar when their crops get damaged by natural calamities like flood, drought, frost or hailstorm. This state scheme works as a replacement for Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and farmers do not have to pay any premium for it. For the Rabi 2025-26 season, online applications opened from 1 January 2026 and eligible farmers can fill the BRFSY form on the official e-Sahkari website before the last date.

Bihar government has moved the whole application process to the new e-Sahkari portal at esahkari.bihar.gov.in, which is run by the Cooperative Department. After a farmer registers and logs in, crop loss support of ₹7,500 to ₹10,000 per hectare is paid directly into the bank account through DBT. The scheme started in 2018 and lakhs of farmers have got benefit from it so far.

There is no restriction on farmers who have already taken loans from nationalized banks, cooperative banks or other lending institutions. Bihar government also gives benefits to farmers who borrowed money from other agencies. Both ryot farmers, who own their land, and non-ryot farmers, who farm on rented land, can apply under this scheme.

Bihar Rajya Fasal Sahayata Yojana - Introduction

Bihar Rajya Fasal Sahayata Yojana helps farmers by giving direct cash support when their crops suffer due to unexpected natural events. This scheme makes sure that agricultural producers in the state receive timely help to keep their livelihoods going during difficult seasons. The support is decided through the Crop Cutting Experiment, which keeps the whole process clear and fair.

Farmers can claim support for up to two hectares of land. The amount depends on how much the crop yield has dropped compared to the threshold limit.
