Antyodaya Gruha Yojana 2025 is a flagship scheme of Odisha state government aimed at providing pakka houses to citizens living in rural areas. This scheme helps those currently residing in kutcha houses and are unable to build their own pukka houses due to financial issues. Applications for the first phase of this scheme were invited earlier in this year.
The official launch of the Odisha Antyodaya Gruha Yojana happened on March 30, 2025. The initial phase will covered 50,000 beneficiaries, particularly those suffering from severe ailments, the differently-abled, widows, and victims of natural calamities or accidents. Each selected beneficiary will receive housing assistance of Rs. 1.2 lakh.
Antyodaya Gruha Yojana – Latest Update
Odisha government will distribute 50,000 Antyodaya houses of first phase of the scheme on 17th September, the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik said the Antyodaya Housing Scheme is focused on giving pucca houses to poor families, widows, persons with disabilities, leprosy patients, and other at-risk groups. Over one lakh beneficiaries are already covered, and this new distribution will further expand its reach.
The scheme, launched in March by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, works alongside Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-G). So far, 35 lakh applications have been received under PMAY’s new survey, with 24.7 lakh homes already built out of the 28.29 lakh target. Officials expect the final list of PMAY beneficiaries by November, while land-related issues are being resolved to speed up pending construction.
Objectives
Antyodaya Gruha Yojana aims to uplift the social status and living conditions of those in Odisha who are in dire need of adequate housing. The primary goal is to ensure that citizens transitioning out of kutcha houses can live in stable and well-constructed homes. The financial aid will be directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the DBT method. The total budget allocated by the state government for this scheme is Rs. 2,603 crore.
