PMFBY Rajasthan 2026 Last Date and How to Apply
Rajasthan government extended the last date for Kharif 2026 crop insurance from 31 July to 16 August 2026. Agriculture Commissioner Naresh Kumar Goyal said the extra days will help farmers who could not insure their crops within the first deadline. Farmers can insure Kharif crops through the National Crop Insurance Portal, the nearest bank, a cooperative society, a Common Service Centre (CSC) or any other authorized financial institution.
Kharif foodgrain, pulse and oilseed crops carry a farmer premium of only 2 percent. Rabi foodgrain, pulse and oilseed crops have a 1.5 percent premium, while commercial and horticulture crops have a 5 percent premium. Central and state governments share the rest of the premium amount. The Rabi 2026-27 enrolment window usually opens around October 2026, and the exact dates are announced on the state agriculture department website.
Non-loanee farmers in Rajasthan need an AgriStack ID to enrol. Before applying, keep these details ready:
- Aadhaar card and a mobile number linked with it, as these are used for registration and for getting updates.
- Land records or a sowing certificate that proves you have sown the crop you want to insure.
- Bank account details, including the account number and IFSC code, for premium payment and claim transfer.
- AgriStack ID for non-loanee farmers, which is required in Rajasthan for crop insurance.
New Rules for Crop Insurance Policy Verification in Rajasthan
Rajasthan Agriculture Commissionerate has issued new rules for verification of crop insurance policies under PMFBY. These rules apply from Kharif 2026. The order was issued by state Agriculture Commissioner Naresh Kumar Goyal. Crop insurance policies of non-loanee farmers will be verified as per the set guidelines before approval, and the insurance company will handle this checking. A policy will be approved only after the farmer's application, the crop sown and the land records are verified.
Insurance companies have to use physical verification, crop health monitoring surveys and technology to match the actual crop sown with the insured crop. If the insured area of a crop is more than the average sown area, those policies will go through verification. In case of non-compliance, the state share of the premium may be held back.
At the district level, the district collector and the joint director of agriculture (extension) will coordinate to get e-Girdawari or DCS survey reports and match them with the insurance policy. The insurance company will be fully responsible for any liability that comes from incorrect approval of a policy. These rules are meant to reduce disputes at claim time and protect farmers' interests.
| Crop Type | Share of premium paid by farmer |
|---|---|
| Annual commercial and horticulture crops | 5% |
| Rabi | 1.5% |
| Kharif | 2% |
