Kerala govt. is accepting applications under Mandahasam Scheme, which gives a free full set of artificial dentures to BPL senior citizens aged 60 and above. Each eligible person gets dental treatment worth up to ₹10,000, and the amount is paid straight to the hospital that fits the dentures.
Mandahasam is back in the news after 1 October 2026, International Day of Older Persons, when Chief Minister V D Satheesan announced that Kerala's new Department of Senior Citizens is now running. Free dentures under Mandahasam are funded in the 2026-27 state budget under the Sayamprabha programme for elderly people. Applications are still made online on the Suneethi portal of the Social Justice Department.
District Social Justice offices invite applications in rounds. In January 2026, the Wayanad office opened a fresh round and said people who had applied earlier did not need to apply again. No last date for the next round has been announced yet. When funds are short, older applicants get preference.
Kerala Mandahasam Scheme online application form 2026
Applying has two parts. First you get a dentist's certificate on the official format, then you apply online on Suneethi.
STEP 1 - Visit the official website of Social Justice Department at https://sjd.kerala.gov.in/. Kerala Social Justice Department homepage will open as shown below.

STEP 2 - Click on the "Scheme" tab in the main menu or directly open https://sjd.kerala.gov.in/schemes.php. A page with the list of Social Justice Department schemes will open.

STEP 3 - Click on "Mandahasam - Scheme to provide artificial dentures to Senior Citizens" to open the scheme page. Go to the "Documents" section and click on "Application Forms - Mandahasam Scheme".

STEP 4 - Mandahasam application form PDF will open as shown below. You can also get it from this direct link to download Mandahasam application form.

STEP 5 - Take the form to a dentist at a government hospital. The dentist checks whether all your teeth are lost, or whether the remaining ones are of no use and must be removed, and then signs the certificate saying you are fit for a full denture.
STEP 6 - Apply on the Suneethi online portal of Social Justice Department, either yourself through Citizen Login or at the nearest Akshaya centre. Upload the dentist certificate, BPL ration card and age proof, then submit. For help, call the Social Justice Department at 0471-2343241.
A district committee made up of the District Medical Officer, the District Social Justice Officer and a government dental surgeon checks the applications and picks eligible people. Once measurements are taken, the new denture set is usually fitted within a month, and follow-up care is given at the same hospital.
