About Nand Baba Milk Mission Scheme 2026
Speaking at the launch programme, the Dairy Development Minister said the department is making constant efforts to develop the rural economy of the state, to give remunerative prices to farmers for their milk, and to strengthen the agro-based infrastructure. Under this mission, Dairy Farmer Producer Organizations (Dairy FPOs) are being formed so that milk can be sold in the producers' own villages. In the financial year 2023-24, there was a plan to set up 5 Dairy FPOs in 5 districts as a pilot project, in which women also play a major role.
Over time, the mission has grown into a group of four separate schemes. These are Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Gau Samvardhan Yojana, Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana, Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, and Mini Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana. Schemes Running Under Nand Baba Milk Mission

A unit of 2 cows of Gir, Sahiwal, Haryana or Tharparkar breed costs ₹2,00,000, and a subsidy of up to 40 percent, or a maximum of ₹80,000, is given. Women milk producers get 50% of the fixed target.
- Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana - This scheme is also running in all districts. A cash incentive of ₹10,000 or ₹15,000 is given for Gir, Sahiwal, Tharparkar, Haryana and Gangatiri cows, based on the daily milk production standard.
- Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana - This scheme is running in 18 divisional headquarters. A unit of 25 cows costs ₹62.50 lakh, with a subsidy of up to 50%, or a maximum of ₹31.25 lakh, given in three stages.
- Mini Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana - This scheme is running in all districts. A unit of 10 cows costs ₹23.60 lakh, with a subsidy of up to 50%, or a maximum of ₹11.80 lakh, given in two stages.

Applications for the schemes under Nand Baba Milk Mission are accepted online through the official portal. The registration process is simple and can be completed from home.

Eligibility and Documents
To apply for the schemes under Nand Baba Milk Mission, the applicant must be above 18 years of age and should have at least 3 years of experience in cattle or buffalo rearing. The applicant must have land available for keeping the animals. For the bigger units, the applicant needs around 0.20 acre of land for a 10-cow unit and about 0.5 acre for a 25-cow unit. The subsidy amount is paid directly to the bank account of the beneficiary through DBT.
Required documents include Aadhaar card, bank account details, land ownership or lease papers, proof of cattle rearing experience, and a certificate from the Chief Veterinary Officer. The cows bought under the scheme must be of the first or second calving, and the calving should not be more than 45 days old. Ear tagging and insurance of the cattle are required.
