Andhra Pradesh government has renamed the old Jagananna Housing Colonies as PMAY-NTR Nagar, and construction of homes for poor families now runs under NTR Housing Scheme along with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana convergence. Beneficiary search at housing.ap.gov.in is still working, so families who registered earlier can check their house status using the same portal.

Eligible households under NTR Housing Scheme can get support up to ₹2.50 lakh, which includes a state share of ₹1.20 lakh along with the central share coming through PM Awas Yojana. Families from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe groups get an extra ₹50,000 on top of this amount. State government has set a target to finish about 10 lakh houses by March 2026, with full completion planned by 2029.

Beneficiary Search - NTR Housing Scheme at housing.ap.gov.in

Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation Limited (APSHCL) runs the same beneficiary search tool that was used for the earlier YSR Housing Scheme. Follow the steps below to check status of a house under NTR Housing Scheme or PMAY-NTR Nagar colonies.

STEP 1 - Visit official website at housing.ap.gov.in from any browser on mobile or computer.

STEP 2 - At homepage, scroll down to reach "Related Links" section.

STEP 3 - Click on "Beneficiary Search" link, or open it directly at housing.ap.gov.in/SearchBeneficiaryNew.do

STEP 4 - Beneficiary search page will open as shown in the image below.

STEP 5 - Enter Beneficiary ID and Ration Card Number, then click "Search" button to see house status.

Jagananna Colonies Renamed as PMAY-NTR Nagar

Coalition government led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu took charge in Andhra Pradesh in June 2024. Since then, many schemes that carried names of former chief ministers YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YS Rajasekhara Reddy have been renamed. Housing colonies built under previous Navaratnalu - Pedalandariki Illu scheme, earlier called Jagananna Colonies, now carry the name PMAY-NTR Nagar. Central government funds these housing projects through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, so state government decided to use the PMAY branding along with NTR Housing name instead of the earlier Jagananna branding.

Original scheme was launched by then chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at Pulivendula on 8 July 2020. House construction in Phase 1 started from 3 June 2021, and government had planned to build 30 lakh houses for poor families across the state at a total cost of around ₹54,000 crore. Many of these houses stand completed today and current government is continuing construction of remaining units under the new NTR Housing branding.

Eligibility for NTR Housing Scheme

Housing department checks a few basic conditions before approving a house under this scheme. Applicant family should not already own a house or house site anywhere in the state, and family income should fall within limits set for BPL households.

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh with valid Aadhaar card and ration card.
• Family should hold a Below Poverty Line or white ration card, and should not own any house or land under other government housing schemes.
• Preference goes to families already allotted a house site patta by state government under earlier housing drives.
• Families from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities get additional financial support along with regular scheme benefit.

Financial Support Under NTR Housing Scheme

Total support of around ₹2.50 lakh per house comes from a mix of state and central funds. State government contributes ₹1.20 lakh under NTR Housing Scheme, and remaining amount comes through PM Awas Yojana share along with material support such as free sand supply for construction. Government has kept aside close to ₹16,000 crore for building around 10 lakh houses under this scheme.

Apart from cash support, state government also plans roads, drinking water lines, electricity connections and drainage in every housing colony. CM Naidu has repeatedly said that housing for every poor family in the state will be completed by year 2029, with yearly targets set for each phase.

Infrastructure Facilities in Housing Colonies

Along with individual houses, government also builds common facilities in every PMAY-NTR Nagar layout so that families do not face problems after moving in. Following facilities are provided in these colonies:-

• Concrete roads connecting every housing block within the colony.
• Underground drainage system to avoid waterlogging near houses.
• Water supply lines and overhead water storage tank for each unit.
• Electrification with proper street lighting across the layout.
• Schools, anganwadi centres and small parks within larger colonies.

How to Apply for NTR Housing Scheme

Families who do not have a house yet can apply through nearest village or ward secretariat. Officials there help in filling the form and uploading required documents to the housing department system.

• Aadhaar card of applicant and family members living in the same household.
• BPL or white ration card as income proof for the family.
• Bank account passbook with active account in applicant's name.
• Residence proof showing the applicant lives in same village or ward.

STEP 1 - Visit nearest village or ward secretariat office along with required documents.

STEP 2 - Ask for NTR Housing Scheme application form and fill in family details correctly.

STEP 3 - Submit form along with Aadhaar, ration card and bank passbook copy to the officer on duty.

STEP 4 - Note down acknowledgement number given after submission, and use it later to track application status.
