Digi Shakti Portal is running as the single official system behind Uttar Pradesh free tablet and smartphone scheme, and students use it for e-KYC, status check and service centre details. Uttar Pradesh government has approved 25 lakh more tablets under Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana, with ₹2,374.60 crore set aside for the 2026-27 financial year.

Around 60 lakh tablets and smartphones have already gone out since 2021-22. Students in graduation, post-graduation, medical, technical, diploma, ITI and skill training courses get these devices free, and the whole process runs through digishakti.up.gov.in. Full details of the new round are on our page about UP Free Tablet Scheme 2026.

Digi Shakti Portal 2026 Registration and e-KYC

Clear one thing first, because it saves a lot of wasted effort. There is no student registration on Digi Shakti Portal. No application form, no document upload, no student login ID at any stage. Only e-KYC is required from your side.

Your college or institute uploads your data. That data is checked by the university and locked by the department. After it clears, you complete Aadhaar e-KYC through MeriPehchaan and then wait for an SMS about device distribution. That is the whole process.

Steps for Digi Shakti e-KYC at Meri Pehchaan Portal

STEP 1 - Open the official website at https://digishakti.up.gov.in and click the e-KYC through Meri Pehchaan Portal link shown below. You can also go straight to https://digishaktiup.in/app/EPramaan/SendServiceToEpramaan

STEP 6 - Enter your Aadhaar number and pick the OTP medium. OTP goes to the mobile number or email linked with your Aadhaar, so that link has to be active. Verify the OTP and submit.

STEP 7 - After KYC goes through, MeriPehchaan sends you back to the DigiShakti website. Existing MeriPehchaan users skip the sign up and follow the same steps with their old ID. From here, watch the SMS alerts on the number your college has on record.

What Uttar Pradesh Digishakti Portal Does

Digishakti Portal is the online system that UP government departments, universities, colleges and students use to run the free tablet and smartphone scheme. It holds the student database, tracks device allotment and lists service centres. Different parts of the portal serve different users, so knowing which part is yours saves time.

  • Department login for IID UP, UPDESCO, department, district, university and institution users, not for students.
  • e-KYC through Meri Pehchaan, which is the only section students actually use.
  • Student search to check whether your college has uploaded your data and what stage it is at.
  • Tablet and Mobile Service Center lists for Samsung, Acer and Lava repairs.
  • Scheme information and study content, open to read without any login.

Who Can Get Devices Under Digi Shakti Scheme

Eligibility runs on your course and your institution, not on marks or an income certificate. You should be studying in a recognised institution in Uttar Pradesh, in graduation, post-graduation, diploma, technical education, health education, ITI or a skill development course. Final year students of approved courses get first priority in each round.

Students from other states enrolled in a UP institution are also covered. What you need ready is an Aadhaar card linked to a working mobile number, your enrollment number, and correct personal details with your college. Nothing has to be uploaded by you.

Check Digi Shakti Portal Status 2026

Status check uses the same search page as e-KYC. Go to digishakti.up.gov.in, click e-KYC through MeriPehchaan Portal, select your university and college, enter your enrollment number and click Search. What comes back tells you exactly where your file is stuck.

Invalid Enrollment Number means your institution has not uploaded your data yet, so go to your college nodal officer. Data is Under Verification means it is with the university or department and you just wait. A verify button means you are cleared and only e-KYC is left. If details are mismatched, get the name spelling, date of birth or Aadhaar number fixed by the nodal officer, after which the file goes through checking, university approval and department locking again before it comes back to you.

Digi Shakti Login Process for Departments

Students have no login option here. Department and institution users sign in at https://digishaktiup.in/app/ by picking their User Type from CMO/PS IID/IIDC, UPDESCO/Inspection Team/IPRD, Department, District Administration, District Magistrate, and University/Board/Society/Council, then entering User ID, password and captcha.

Logins are not open for registration. They are created by authorised users and sent to the concerned officer on their registered mobile number and email. Forgot Password works through OTP on that same registered number or email.

Device Specs and Service Centre List

Three companies supply devices, Samsung, Acer and Lava, and students cannot pick a brand. Tablets include Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite LTE (T225) with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, an octa core processor and a 5100 mAh battery, plus Lava T81n and Acer One 8 T4-82L with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. Smartphones given earlier were Samsung A03 or A03s and Lava Z3, both 3GB RAM and 32GB storage on a 5000 mAh battery.

If your device stops working, go to the portal, click Tablet/Mobile Service Center, pick your brand and a list of nearby centres opens. Carry the bill or warranty card that came in the box. Toll free numbers are listed there too. Direct links: Samsung, Acer, Lava

Check UP Free Tablet and Smartphone List 2026

There is no downloadable beneficiary list on the portal. To see whether you are in, use the same e-KYC search page with your university, college and enrollment number. If your details show up below the form, you are on the list and the device will come through your college.

Many colleges also put up the list on the notice board and some share a PDF. That is often faster than the portal, so ask your department. Older scheme background and phase-wise numbers are covered on our UP Free Tablet Smartphone Yojana page.

FAQ's

Can students create a login on Digi Shakti Portal?

No. Student logins do not exist on this portal. Logins are only for departments, universities, colleges and training centres, and those are created by authorised officers, not by signing up.

Why is my enrollment number showing as invalid?

Either the number was typed wrong, or your college has not uploaded your batch data yet. Check the number against your college record first, then ask the nodal officer about the upload.

Is e-KYC compulsory to get the device?

Yes. Aadhaar e-KYC through MeriPehchaan is the one step a student has to complete. Without it your record stays incomplete and the device is not allotted.

My Aadhaar is not linked to any mobile number, what now?

Get it linked at an Aadhaar centre before starting e-KYC, since the OTP goes to the Aadhaar linked number or email. The MeriPehchaan sign up itself accepts any working mobile number, but the Aadhaar OTP step does not.

Are laptops also given under this scheme?

Devices going out under Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana are tablets and smartphones. Laptop distribution in the state runs under separate arrangements, so do not wait on this portal for a laptop.
