Uttar Pradesh government has opened online applications for UP Fee Reimbursement Scheme 2026-27 on the official Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Online System at scholarship.up.gov.in. Fresh and renewal registrations for pre-matric and post-matric scholarships are now being accepted for the 2026-27 academic session.

Under this scheme, the state government reimburses the tuition fee already paid by students and also gives scholarship money for study expenses. Students from SC, ST, OBC, Minority and General categories studying in class 9 to 12, graduation, post-graduation, ITI, diploma and other professional courses can apply.

In the 2025-26 session, more than 84.88 lakh students applied for UP scholarships and around 18.64 lakh students were verified as beneficiaries. The scholarship amount and fee reimbursement are sent directly to the bank account of the student through DBT.

What is UP Fee Reimbursement Scheme 2026

UP Fee Reimbursement Scheme is the main student support arrangement of Uttar Pradesh under which the Social Welfare Department, Backward Class Welfare Department, Minority Welfare Department and Tribal Development Department run pre-matric and post-matric scholarships. The scheme covers tuition fee reimbursement as well as maintenance allowance for day scholars and hostlers.

Scholarship Amount and Benefits

Eligible students get scholarship money and fee reimbursement as per their category and course. Pre-matric students get around ₹3,000 to ₹7,000 per year. Post-matric students get around ₹7,000 to ₹13,500 per year depending on the group and whether they are day scholars or hostlers.

Fee reimbursement covers the tuition fee already submitted by the student to the institution. The amount is credited to the bank account of the student through DBT, so the account should be linked with Aadhaar.

Students who meet the following conditions can apply for UP scholarship and fee reimbursement:

STEP 1 - Go to the official website at scholarship.up.gov.in and click on the 'One Time Registration' option on the homepage. Complete the OTR using Aadhaar number and an active mobile number.

STEP 2 - After OTR, click on 'Student Registration' and select the correct department as per your category and course from Social Welfare, Backward Class Welfare, Minority Welfare or Tribal Development.

STEP 3 - Fill in personal, academic, institution and bank details in the application form and upload the required documents.

STEP 4 - Check all the details, submit the application form and take a printout. Submit the printout to the institution for verification.
