The exemptions from the renewal of approvals are not covered under the MSME Act 2019. The exemptions under the Act are applicable only on the new enterprise, and that includes an enterprise set up or proposed to be set up by an existing enterprise for manufacturing products or providing services at a location which is separately identifiable and different from the location of the existing enterprise.

As per the updated MSME definition, a micro enterprise has investment in plant and machinery or equipment up to ₹1 crore and turnover up to ₹5 crore, a small enterprise has investment up to ₹10 crore and turnover up to ₹50 crore, and a medium enterprise has investment up to ₹50 crore and turnover up to ₹250 crore. The state also brought the Rajasthan MSME (Facilitation of Establishment and Operation) (Amendment) Act, 2023 to update the scheme.
