STEP 1 - Visit the official UPPCL website at uppcl.org/uppcl/en or go directly to the Jhatpat portal at jhatpatportal.uppcl.org.

STEP 2 - On the Jhatpat portal homepage, click on "Registration" to open the new user registration page.

STEP 3 - Enter your name, email ID and mobile number, fill the captcha code and click on "Register". An OTP will reach the mobile number entered, so type that OTP on the verification page and click "Verify OTP".

STEP 4 - After OTP verification, login credentials are sent to the registered mobile number. Use these details to login and set a fresh password if the portal asks for one at first login.

STEP 5 - After login, click on "Apply for New Connection" and complete the e-KYC step using Aadhaar. Then choose the purpose of supply (domestic, commercial, industrial and so on), your district, division and connection type.

STEP 6 - Fill in applicant details, current and premises address, and upload the required documents such as ID proof, ownership or rent papers and a passport size photo. For load above 5 KW, a wiring completion certificate is also needed.

STEP 7 - Enter the total load required based on your appliances (fan, bulb, AC, motor, computer and so on), check all details in the preview screen, agree to the declaration and click "Submit".

STEP 8 - Pick a convenient date for site inspection and pay the application fee online through debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI or wallet. Once a department engineer inspects the site and confirms the details, the application gets approved and a meter is installed at the premises.

Applicants who cannot apply online can also visit their nearest e-Suvidha Kendra or Jan Suvidha Kendra and get the application filed on their behalf.
