Telangana Driver Empowerment Programme lets eligible SC, ST, BC and minority drivers apply online at tsobmms.cgg.gov.in, perform a beneficiary search and download the TS Driver Empowerment Scheme application form PDF. Telangana state government runs this scheme to help drivers from SC, ST, BC and minority communities with skill training, placement support and money help for buying a vehicle.

Under the scheme, selected drivers get a four wheeler in partnership with Maruti Motors, Uber and the State Bank of India (SBI). Telangana Driver Empowerment Scheme Update

Telangana state home minister announced that cars will be handed over to the beneficiaries of the Drivers Empowerment Scheme. The beneficiary drivers do not have to pay any kind of instalment money in advance. Driver Empowerment Programme helps the SC, ST, BC and minority drivers in collaboration with Uber, Maruti Motors and the State Bank of India (SBI). It includes the following aspects:-

• Skill enhancement of the drivers through Maruti Driving School (MDS)
• Assistance for employment through Uber
• Financial assistance for vehicle purchase through SBI

Objectives of TS Driver Empowerment Scheme

The scheme has been designed to help drivers from the SC, ST, BC and minority communities in a few clear ways:-

• Improve the skill set of youth interested in or employed in the driving profession. Applicants undergo a certification course that includes sessions on road safety, vehicle maintenance, driver etiquette and using technology for a better customer experience.
• Provide money help to selected applicants for vehicle purchase and help them become independent driver cum owner.
• Give the applicants a steady income opportunity by signing them up with the technology platform, Uber, as a driver partner.

Eligibility Criteria for Telangana Driver Empowerment Scheme

Applicants need to meet the following conditions to apply for the scheme:-

• Candidates should belong to the SC, ST, BC or minority community.
• Annual family income should be below Rs 1.50 lakh in rural areas and Rs 2.00 lakh in urban areas.
• Minimum qualification is 8th pass, but SSC pass or fail candidates get preference.
• Age limit to apply is between 21 and 40 years.
• Applicant should have a valid LMV license issued by RTA on or before 31 December 2015.
• Preference is given to candidates having an LMV license with a transport badge.
• The applicant should be interested to work with Uber in Hyderabad.

Bank Loan Subsidy in TS Driver Empowerment Scheme

Selected candidates who complete the training get financial help for buying a four wheeler. The scheme provides 60% of the unit cost or Rs 5,00,000, whichever is less, as subsidy from the concerned department. The beneficiary pays Rs 50,000 and the remaining amount is covered by a bank loan.

STEP 1 - Visit the official website at tsobmms.cgg.gov.in.

STEP 2 - At the homepage, click on the "Driver Empowerment Programme Beneficiary Search" link present on the left side of the page as shown below:-

STEP 3 - Afterwards, the page where applicants can perform the Driver Empowerment Programme beneficiary search will open at tgobmms.cgg.gov.in/depSearch.action:-

STEP 4 - Here applicants can enter the beneficiary ID or mobile number, driving licence number, date of birth and then click on the "Get Details" button.

How to Apply Online for TS Driver Empowerment Programme 2026

The state government invites online applications for the scheme through its official website at tsobmms.cgg.gov.in. To apply online for the driver enhancement programme, the candidates should have a minimum qualification of class VIII (8th) pass. The annual household income of the candidate should not exceed Rs 1.5 lakh in rural areas and Rs 2 lakh in urban areas. The applicants who have appeared in SSC exams (pass or fail) will be given preference under the scheme.

The applicants should also have a valid driving LMV license issued by RTA on or before 31 December 2015. Candidates having a licence with a transport badge will be given preference. To apply online for the scheme, visit the official website at tsobmms.cgg.gov.in and follow the steps given below:-

STEP 1 - Registration: Applicant should apply online at tsobmms.cgg.gov.in and fill in the basic details accurately.

STEP 2 - District level selection is done in coordination with the District Collector, Dy. Transport Commissioner, DMWO, SBI and Uber.

STEP 3 - Skill enhancement training is given to the selected driver by M/s RKS Motors.

STEP 4 - After completion of training, the subsidy is released by the corporation through NEFT or RTGS to SBI (participating bank), who in turn release the total cost of the vehicle to M/s RKS Motors along with the bank and candidate share for release of the vehicle.

STEP 5 - Finally, a four wheeler is given to the beneficiary in tie with Uber.
